I'd be interested in finding out if it was ever confirmed that Zarqawi had his leg amputated in Baghdad after being injured in Afghanistan. If so, Zarqawi must be pretty good at disguising this infirmity while roaming around Iraq.

I have the sneaking suspicion that his "amputation" is about as authentic as Bin Laden's chronic kidney condition or the widely reported death of "Chemical" Ali that was touted at the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I have a more specific way to do it. Supposedly, American snipers in Iraq have been known to "wing" their targets, let them scream awhile for their creepy friends' benefit, and then finish them.

Interesting thought.
I started to disbelieve all of the reports regarding certain aspects of the War on Terror-even by the more legitimate news sources-once it became clear that they were just as in the dark as the rest of us.
I can think of at least three specific figures (Abu Hafs the Mauritanian, al-Zawahiri, and Fazel Muhammed), who've been "captured" or "killed" on multiple occasions.
I'm still hoping that one of these days these cretins are eliminated for good.

You might well know someone with a prosthetic leg without knowing of the leg. If the leg is off below the knee the amputee may even be able to run with it.

Zarqawi's lieutenant, a 36-year-old Moroccan named Amer el Azizi, planned the Madrid terror and is the living link between al Qaeda, the Zarqawi network, and the Moroccan immigrant cell that set the Madrid bombs. Azizi also organized and presided over the 2001 meeting in Spain where Mohammed Atta and al Qaeda leaders put the finishing touches on the September 11 plan. Yep, no link between Iraq and Al Queda.
