This is something I wondered about. How can Joe Citizen just "go" to Iraq? Don't they check everyone out to make sure they belong there? It's weird, just too, too, weird. If he was with a company, that would be one thing, but all we've heard was that he was a contractor NOT hired by the government. Is there even such a thing as that?

Worst case, a complicated visa procedure (who issue the visa?). He seemed to have a relevant business reason, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem.
