You cannot send email except from the server that provides your internet access.

WRONG!

Ever try Yahoo Mail? Or Hotmail? I can send and receive letters to myself on any computer in the world and the message would never leave the yahoo server. And anyone with my sign in code and my password could access it and do the same. Heck they could do it here using Freep Mail.

JS, You gotta get away from AOL.

of course it leaves the server, how do you see it in the browser on your screen if it doesn't leave the server.

go to www.ethereal.com, download a com analyzer and install it on your PC. run a capture, read your Yahoo mail, look at the packet breakdown, tell me what you see.

The message remains on the yahoo server, but you are also viewing it over the net from anywhere in the world.

True. And if you are attempting to keep your messages secret, this is a good plan because...?

Ordinary email is delivered to the recipient's server. It is then deleteted from the server when the recipient receives it.

With Yahoo and Hotmail, the email sits on the server forever, unless it is deleted. How cool is this for the feds?
