Find military targets to slam in an unexpectedly powerful show of power.

If we are too inept to have such a target, go blast the hell out of a piece of sand near a major city in the Middle East where it is noticed and rattle the whole area and say we got a bunch of bad guys whether it is true or not.

A show of power and making an impression is imperative immediately.

I can agree with that, but we're going to have to be prepared to go further if the show of power doesn't work. Even if it does work, leaving your enemies alive to regroup and attack at a later time is not the best of choices either.
