Wonderful post.

I watched the full version of the video today, and I also have the Pearl video.

I am keeping them for some reason that I cannot understand, but I am keeping them anyway,

I share your sentiments about the basic nature of Americans, but I want to add one more. I want to add a criticism. A criticism I thought I would never have to make again.

As a Vietnam era vet, I am very sensitive to public moods and trends when we are engaged in combat.

I lived through a time when for reasons I did not fully understand then, my country, through many of it's people insulted, abandoned and demoralized many of us serving, because they did not want to continue the Vietnam war and demanded that we pull out.

This went on for months and then years and during this time our armed forces began to feel the pinch of fewer resources and bad morale. Really bad morale. Terrible morale.

This condition existed and was never repaired until Ronald Reagan some how pulled a rabbit out of a hat and magically brought morale back up to pre-war levels.

I was so, so happy to see that happen and all the pain and hell that I went through seemed a distant memory.

Well folks, I am now afraid that "they're Baaack" to haunt me once more, in the form of the same type of rhetoric and political backstabbing that the weak kneed liberal mental midgets of the 60's had in their socialist, anti-war agenda.

I thought perhaps we had learned our lesson by the men who were killed in Vietnam for lack of support back home, but by God we have NOT!

I see it again!

I want to grab them with both hands and say, "what the hell is the matter with you?" "Why can't you do a very simple thing and support your country and commander in chief in wartime and stop making political hay out of every single problem that is bound by experience to occur and occur often!"

Today, on the forum, I saw the posts of some of these people, and every day I see them on TV spouting their pompous screeds of failure and cost.

It is as if the medication of 9/11 has worn off and the 9/10 mentality has reemerged as the new normal.

I have some advice for those people. They need to get out of my way and shut the hell up. They need to totally reevaluate what is important to them and what is not because if they do not do this and very soon, the enemy is going to remind them the hard way.

God Bless America, and God Bless President George W. Bush, and God Bless our Military and those serving. For without them, we would be and have nothing. Nothing at all..........

I agree with everything you said.

It is strange sometimes...it IS like living Vietnam all over again. NOT the combat....but the politics.

Welcome Home my Brother.
