Methinks it is not much of a sacrifice for the Dishonorable Mr. Kenny to give up his "faith".

Well, this isn't really necessary, you know. All he need do is simply sign up with Kerry/Kennedy's parish and he can take any "PUBLIC" position on abortion he wants without offending anyone in the church. It certainly doesn't require leaving the church he was raised in!

At least he's honorable enough not to drag the Church down with him.

Probably for every person who leaves the Church because it has finally decided to assert its teachings, two more will join.

The "backlash" against the Catholic Church in this matter is going to be so insignificant that people like me will always wonder why this step wasn't taken sooner.
I was quite surprised to hear a radio host this morning on a New Jersey radio station offer such clear support to the Church in this case.
"Nobody's dictating anything to anybody," he said, in response to a caller who complained about the heavy-handed tactics of the Catholic bishops in New Jersey, "Mr. Kenny and Mr. McGreevey are perfectly free to become Methodists, Baptists, Monongahela Gully-Jumpers, or whatever else they want to call themselves."

People complain that the church is dictating public policy. It isn't. It is dictating church policy. Bishops aren't telling politicians that they can't be politicians. They are telling them that they won't be able to receive communion if they espouse pro-abortion views. It's as simple as that.
I don't know what all the fuss is about.

Hmm...perhaps a savvy entrepreneur could make a killing selling those(pun intended).

Another democrat shows where he will not waffle. Like Kerry he does not waver on abortion. He's dumped church discipline for the world's ways. May he experience the world's ways by severe mercy and by sin's being sin.

....."Have no other God before me!".....
He worships at the alter of death and sodomy. His god is the beast. Let the cleansing of the Church begin as such.
I was disappointed when the SBC didn't kick Clinton out when he failed to repent. Church discipline is an idea that needs to return.

I am not a Catholic, but my wife is and we go to an RC Church.
If this boob would "leave the Church" over this issue, it's clear that his understanding of what the Church is, and the Church's understanding of herself are incompatible.
That is to say, he actually left the Church long ago (and there are many others like him).
