BNP may use teen girl on TV

A WELSH teenager could become the face of far-right party BNP in its first-ever TV broadcasts.

Jennifer Griffin from Welshpool may feature in the political broadcasts in the run-up to June's local and Euro elections.

The 17-year-old daughter of BNP party leader Nick Griffin wants to be in a Welsh-language version, to be shown on May 28.

Trade unionist John Walker from Deeside, who is bidding to be BNP's first Euro MP, will be in the English version for Wales.

Mr Walker, who is also standing in Mancot, is waiting to hear whether he has been thrown out of the Transport and General Workers' Union following a disciplinary tribunal last month.

Jennifer chairs the BNP Supporters' Club, a group for 14 to 18-year-olds.

The broadcasts are part of the BNP's most determined campaign to gain a foothold on Welsh councils in the polls on June 10.

Last night Mr Griffin said the scripts had been completed and the recordings are being made. Mr Griffin is appearing in the version to be shown in England.

"Jennifer is quite happy to do the Welsh version but it hasn't been decided yet," said Mr Griffin.

Mr Griffin says there is growing support in Wales for his party's policies, particularly on "English migration" to Wales which, he says, is "pushed by the multi-cultural society of England".

Lib Dem AM Jenny Randerson has called for all election candidates to sign the Commission for Racial Equality's anti-racism charter. She said if BNP members expressed their views in honest terms they would not be approved for a party political broadcast.

Plaid Cymru's deputy leader MEP Jill Evans said the BNP was attempting to act like a normal political party, which they were not.

"They are simply a bunch of racist individuals with abhorrent views."

Well, then, don't play into their hands by writing them off and ignoring the invasion of your country.

IIRC, the BNP is following David Duke's model.

Hide your real views and pretend to be a conservative.

Of course, since the conservativism of the Tories is extremely questionable this gives them alot of room politically to work with...
