I can't remeber who posted it, but they said that the Secretary General of the UN can't be from a country that is a permanent member of the UN Security Council. I hope that's correct because that leaves ol' Bubba Bill out in the cold.

Many of us have asked for proof of such claims. None, that I know of, has yet been given.

CHAPTER III
ORGANS
Article 7
1. There are established as the principal organs of the United Nations: a General Assembly, a Security Council, an Economic and Social Council, a Trusteeship Council, an International Court of Justice, and a Secretariat.
2. Such subsidiary organs as may be found necessary may be established in accordance with the present Charter.
Article 8
The United Nations shall place no restrictions on the eligibility of men and women to participate in any capacity and under conditions of equality in its principal and subsidiary organs.
