"As with some other faith communities, the Islamic prohibition against paying interest has kept American Muslims from homeownership. We believe that we are the only bank in the country that is aggressively engaged in helping Muslim families participate in the American Dream of homeownership," How can this be legal? This tells me that my teensy tiny church (if they even had the money) could startup their own bank and allow members of the church to buy a home and not pay interest....right? How would they make any money?

Some churches are doing sort of the same thing with health insurance, though it's not called "insurance" as such. It's actually worked out pretty well for some. I don't know how old you are, but words don't seem to mean much anymore. You used to know what something meant, now it takes a gaggle of attorneys to "interpret"!
