One of these days we'll turn around and realize that there is very little that is owned in this country by US.

Mohammed Abdulaziz Aljomaih (Chairman - First Islamic) Aljomaih Holding Co. - A major business enterprise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia representing General Motors, Yokohama, Pepsi Cola, Shell, and Fiat among others……

It seems that some of them already have strong ties to U.S. companies.....and are looking to have more.

Okay, tinfoil alert here. Some of the CVS drugstores in my area are owned by muslims. I have to fill a prescription every month, for the rest of my life. I decided to take my prescription to an independant drugstore in my area instead. It costs a little more, but I was afraid that the pharmicist would give me the wrong meds on purpose, 'cause I'm an infidel! :)He's a very rude man!

There are a few gas stations in my area that are owned by muslims, their prices are usually lower, but they are rude and dirty and I won't give them my business. I would feel the same a you do if I were getting a prescription filled.

Just dumped AT&T this morning after trying to get customer service rep who could speak English. Obviously the calls are being directed to India. When I tried to talk with an English challenged supervisor, I asked if he was located in India...he said that he could not give me that info.!!! I told him to note on my cancellation request, that I will not do business with companies who are outsourcing their business!

Oh, wow, I wasn't aware of AT&T! I have SBC, and I'm not sure who owns them. I should check! AT&T are always calling me and I have to hang-up on them! They're relentless in their soliciting....one of them told me to go F myself when I started reading the ingredients off of the back of a Brummel & Brown box. lol I will not do business with them.

My oh my. No wonder so many people are dedicated to opposing this war on terror. And getting oil from Alaska. And getting GWB out of office. This is damn scary. Imagine Mohammed coming with the bedpan in possession of your medical records.

Additional recent Islamic special treatment....

University Bank Hires New Islamic Mortgage Specialist

ANN ARBOR, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/03/2004 -- University Bancorp (NASDAQ: UNIB) announced today that A. D. Mirza joined University Bank's Residential team as a Mortgage Specialist. Mirza now serves as the primary point of contact in the Islamic community for the Bank's new interest-free Mortgage Alternative Loan Transaction or MALT (a redeemable lease program) and the new FDIC-insured Profit-Sharing Money Market account. He is also completing the training required to become certified as a Residential Loan Education Officer.

As a long time participant in the Detroit Chapter of the Council of American Muslim Professionals (CAMP), Mirza was most interested in joining University Bank because of its Islamic Finance programs. Prior to joining University Bank Mirza worked for Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corporation as a Loan Officer and Netco as an Escrow Officer.

"As with some other faith communities, the Islamic prohibition against paying interest has kept American Muslims from homeownership. We believe that we are the only bank in the country that is aggressively engaged in helping Muslim families participate in the American Dream of homeownership," said Vice President, Residential Loan Manager, John Sickler. "A. D. brings the combination of residential lending, language and cultural skills and a continued commitment to homeowners in southeast Michigan that we had spent nearly a year searching for. We're extremely fortunate that A. D. chose to join us," continued Sickler.

Originally from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, Mirza has been a Detroit area resident for twenty-eight years. He is a graduate of Fraser High School and Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences. While at Eastern Michigan University, Mirza interned at the Canadian House of Commons as part of the Comparative Political Internship. He is currently an executive member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni Board at Eastern Michigan University. Mirza resides in Ypsilanti.

Ann Arbor-based University Bancorp (NASDAQ: UNIB) owns 100% of University Bank. University Bank is an FDIC insured, locally owned and managed Community Bank. The Community Banking operation focuses on local businesses and the non-profit community, and its officers make "office calls" to local small businesses and non-profits. Other Community Banking specialties include highly competitive deposit products for business owners, residential mortgages, commercial real estate lending, and insurance, investments and asset management through its wholly owned subsidiary University Insurance & Investments, Inc. In addition to its Community Banking operations, University Bank specializes in mortgage subservicing specializing in servicing the credit union industry through the Bank's Houghton-based 80%-owned subsidiary, Midwest Loan Services, which currently subservices over $2 billion in mortgage loans. Thank God not all gas comes from the Middle East. However, when you buy gas, it's impossible to know where it comes from. Does anyone know if this sale can be protested? I'd be very happy to join a protest but not lead one.

How can this be legal? This tells me that my teensy tiny church (if they even had the money) could startup their own bank and allow members of the church to buy a home and not pay interest....right? How would they make any money?

........the Islamic prohibition against paying interest ......??????

Is this saying they will now qualify for ZERO interest mortgages???

The banks in "muslim" countries don't charge interest??? I don't believe it.

You know, wouldn't any reasonable human being of the same ethnic/religious persuasion that caused 911 not pick post 911 to start their, I'm-a-victim-we-have-rights-gimmee-gimmee attitude? I remember thinking that day how horrible it would be if we made the same mistake we made in 1941 and locked up everyone who even looked like the people who did this to us. This just isn't a good time for their particular "minority" to be making demands. I don't think any of us can imagine just how awful this mess is going to get.

Some churches are doing sort of the same thing with health insurance, though it's not called "insurance" as such. It's actually worked out pretty well for some. I don't know how old you are, but words don't seem to mean much anymore. You used to know what something meant, now it takes a gaggle of attorneys to "interpret"! Thanks, Bill "it depends what the meaning of the word is-is" Clinton
