Boortz notices the 9-11/Chinagate/Gorelick "Rosetta Stone"
Nealz Nuze ^ | 30 November 2004 | Neal Boortz

In Neal's daily Program Notes for 30 April:

==========

You know that Jamie Gorelick is a member of the 9/11 Commission. You also probably know that she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Clinton Administration And .. you might know that she is the Clinton official who wrote that memo that pretty much eliminated any possibility that the CIA and the FBI would cooperate and share intelligence on terrorism. But .. do you know why Gorelick wrote this memo? Simple. To protect Clinton from an investigation into Chinese involvement in his campaign finance scandal.

The wall did it's intended job real nice. It effectively slammed the door on a chinagate investigation with spectacular timing.

Google on Gorelick and your choice of Clinton scandal.

She was a Deputy Attorney General under Reno and is variously described as the "switchboard" for information between the Reno DOJ and the White House, and a "close friend" of scandal luminaries such as Web Hubbell, Mark Tuohey, etc. She was nominated to the 9-11 Commission by Tom Daschle. She, more than anyone since Frank Church, is responsible for The Wall, and her actions seem to have been calculated to shield domestic law enforcement from any gleanings foreign intelligence might have developed regarding Clinton's sale of strategic technologies and White House access.

Traficant is becoming amazingly relevent lately.

THEY DID NOTHING WRONG
September 18, 1997
Mr. Speaker, when it comes to Chinese money, nobody did anything wrong. Manlin Foung and Joseph Landon said, `I did nothing wrong.' David Wang and Xiping Wang said, `I did nothing wrong.' Yufang Chu said, `I did nothing wrong.' Charlie Trie said, `I did nothing wrong.' John Huang said, `I did nothing wrong.' Even three Buddhist nuns said, `I did nothing wrong.'

Tell me, Mr. Speaker, if all these people did nothing wrong, why are they all demanding immunity? Beam me up, Mr. Speaker. With Chinese trade surpluses now over $50 billion, something stinks. And I guarantee one thing, these people were not just sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom. I suspect they were playing monopoly in the Oval Office. Tell it the way it is. They look guilty, guilty, guilty. Congress should get to the bottom of this Chinese money business.

Consider the events immediately prior to the drafting of the "wall memo" protecting the civil rights of certain Americans with suspicious foreign contacts. This is in addition to Jamie Gorelick's predecessor, Webster Hubbell, being paid off by a Chinese front company after he resigned.

Chung sent an identical letter to Eric Sildon at the DNC, and faxed a letter to Ann McCoy of the White House Visitor's Office requesting her assistance in arranging a White House tour. The Secretary of Energy, Hazel O’Leary, invited people from across the nation to attend a public meeting in Washington, D.C. This historic meeting brought together scientists, weapons experts, military officers, historians, environmentalists, and others to begin a comprehensive review of the Department of Energy's classification policy. The unprecedented challenge: to review all information classified by the Department. The clear charge: to hear all voices and to seek input from within the Department, its contractors, the national laboratories, and most importantly, from the American public. The Fundamental Classification Policy Review marked the first time that a Government agency has actively sought public input on a fundamental review of its classification policy….More than 25 working group meetings were held. While most meetings were classified, arrangements were made to permit uncleared individuals to address the working groups on specific issues.

Just several weeks after Mark Middleton left his White House job in February 1995, Trie, Mark Middleton and his brother Larry Middleton traveled to Asia. In a three week period, Trie and Middleton visited China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Jakarta, and Brunei. While in Hong Kong, Middleton visited Consolidated Trust Company, and told Ng Lap Seng's friend and partner, William Peh and other CTC employees of his close relationship with the President and the fact that he had just left the White House to begin his own company. Middleton had not quite severed all of his White House ties because as late as October 1996, more than 18 months after he left the White House, he still had a White House telephone number and he was passing out his White House business cards in Asia. In addition, a message on the White House voice mail system was left saying: "[t]hank you for calling the White House. To reach Mack McLarty, please dial (202) 456-2000. To reach Mark Middleton, please dial (202) 737-9305. . . . Again, thank you for calling the White House." The number left by Middleton was the number for his company, Commerce Corp. International.

We need all the phone logs and other records of contacts with the White House immediately prior to the first DOJ activity that eventually resulted in raising the intel wall.

Original Sources 3/9/99 Mary Mostert "… In 1996 Bill Clinton told reporters he was "not told about the June 1996 FBI warnings of Communist Chinese involvement in the 1996 presidential election." However, it was later learned that president Clinton not only KNEW about it, but that he subsequently made a thwarted attempt to obtain the counterintelligence information about what the FBI had learned of the Communist Chinese influence on the presidential election in November of 1996. Charles Ruff, Clinton legal counsel who most recently defended him in the Senate Impeachment trial, made the FBI contact.

Ruff contacted Janet Reno's deputy Jamie Gorelick and wanted to know what federal investigators knew or suspected about Chinese illegal contributions to the presidential campaign. However, when FBI director Freeh learned of the White House probe by Gorelick, he ordered the information not be provided to Clinton, federal law enforcement officials told the Daily Republican in 1997. In a New York Times story Ruff was quoted as telling Gorelick he was seeking the information on behalf of the National Security Council [Sandy Berger?]…. However, law enforcement officials pointed out that Ruff's request was received only after FBI director Freeh had left Washington on a trip to the Middle East. In his absence, attorney general Janet Reno and Gorelick quickly moved to obtain the secret FBI files.

Before the Justice Department turned over the FBI files to Clinton's legal counsel, Robert Bryant, then head of the FBI national security division, picked up the telephone and informed Freeh of Clinton's probe for the secret files on the Chinese investigation. Freeh ordered the files withheld. And people wonder how come the Senate of the United States was never able to get Janet Reno to obey the law of the land and appoint an independent counsel to investigate the Chinese money that helped get Clinton and Gore elected…."

Things National Security Advisor Sandy Berger has done for China according to Dick Morris

-- Berger was the point person at the law firm of Hogan & Hartson for trade with the Chinese government.
-- New York Times reporter Jeff Gerth revealed that Berger was told about Chinese spying in April 1996 but did not tell the president until July 1997
-- Berger was the administration official who "labored ceaselessly to complete a trade deal with Chine during the negotiations with Premier Zhu Rongji.
-- His urgent memos "triggered the administration's decision to grant a waiver to Loral Space Systems to launch its satellite on Chinese rockets."
-- Defense writers Edward Timperlake and William Tripplett note that "it was Berger who led the charge to repeal export controls on satellites for China."

Ex-Clinton Aide (Jamie Gorelick's predecessor) Linked to Big Chinese Project http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a1001102.htm

"In the months after Webster Hubbell was forced to resign to face a criminal investigation in 1994, the former associate attorney general received more than $400,000 from about a dozen enterprises, including the organizers of a multibillion-dollar development in China that received the endorsement of the Clinton administration, according to associates of Hubbell and to government records.

And what was the name of the book ? I had it and loaned it out but never got it back. Also it was stated that where formerly these waivers could only be granted by State, Ron Brown was appointed head of Commerce and then the authority was transfered to Commerce. Loral and Hughes were involved in the guidance technology given to the Chicoms. Then Ron Brown-Arkancide ? Help me out here, I want to get that book again.
