It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. Good morning Louie! I came as commanded ;) Blessed Sunday morning to The Mayor and all FR's Finest friends for a wonderful, happy day. BTW, yesterday in Seattle we had 25,000 turn out for a May Day for Marriage! Dr. Dobson was one of the speakers. It's a good use of May Day IMHO :)

Rus, what a coincidence that you would post that story about Joshua and Caleb. My husband was just telling me about his sermon for today over lunch. He preached on "Does God approve of War?" One of his illustrations was the story of the scouts who brought back news of "giants" in the land, and Joshua and Caleb wanted to go for it. But the people did what so many do nowadays, they held an anti-war protest. God had told them to possess the land and they wanted to appease. The result was 40 years more in the wilderness. There's a lesson there for us.
