How about the names of the 3000 killed in the Twin Towers?
I think they should be honored, also.
No! Hell, they won't even show the videos anymore of the Twin Towers attacks.
We all know why.
These people are as evil as the terrorists.

This is mindless propaganda.

Am I reading this correctly? It is illegal for them to read the names and post the pictures of the dead in Iraq?
I hope so!

The sawed off little runt, who pops into the local Giant supermarket dressed up in Crocodile Dundee drag, will never read the names and show the pictures of the 3000+ men and women killed on 911. Nor will he show the videos of young men and women jumping to their doom from the upper floors of the WTC. He is a piece of Cosmopolitan dreck from the UK who seethes with hatred for this Free Republic. Anyone know what the little quisling's ratings are these days?

I wouldn't worry about it. People watch t.v. for entertainment. Ted and his marxist bretheren will be the only audience this pitiful show will have, and that's a stretch. His droaning and moaning about our "fallen" in Iraq won't even register on the Neilsen meter.
We truly need to move on. There really isn't anything to see here.
To: Mo1
If I thought for a second that Ted Koppel was actually offering a tribute to our fallen heroes I would give him the benefit of the doubt, but we all know what he is up to.

I think you are spot on right, but we all know he isn't doing it to honor our dead warriors. Among other things, runtman Koppel is a moral and physical coward and cowards hate warriors, particularly warriors who have given the last full measure of their devotion. So he is using these heroes for his own dishonorable and evil purposes and for that he needs a little bit of recalibration.

I do not normally write to "news programs" about the crap they put on, but two threads today forced my hand.
First I wrote to Hardball, which I have added to this thread.
Then I wrote to Nightline about this thread.
Here's what I wrote to Nightline:
I understand that tonight, Tuesday, April 27th, 2004, that you plan to read the names of all of the dead soldiers in Iraq.
Three questions.
Have you done a show where you read the names of the dead US soldiers in Afghanistan? Speaks to your motives.
Have you done a show where you read the names of the victims of Islamic fanatics from 9/11? Speaks to your honesty.
Have you done a show where you read the names of the dead so called "zionists" killed by Islamic fanatics over the last 80 years (including the thousands of non-Jews)? Speaks to your bigoted world view.
If you publish my comments (not bloody likely) please do not post my home town or email address. My stand could get me, or my family, dead. You do know what the term "fatwah" means? Okay, that's four questions. Deal with it.
The folks we're fighting are not "warm and fuzzy," "just people," or "poor misunderstood victims," no matter how much you may want to spin it that way. They are ruthless monsters out to kill anyone who disagrees with their psychotic world view. The folks whose names you are planning on reading (according to your press releases) have died to fight those madmen. Are you working for them, or against them?

Koppel should read the names of innocent civilians or unarmed military personnel who were killed by the terrorist since 1979 to 2001. The list will be longer than our war dead in Iraq. Will he feel better?
To: been_lurking
Wow, your fortunate to work with such brave and noble people.

This is what I got-- I sent it to them.
It's clear to me that you are using the deaths of our soldiers in Iraq as a political football. I can't fully express how sad and tragic I find that. Your decision to exclude the names and faces of the brave Americans who have died in Afghanistan exposes what you are doing.
You are not interested in honoring their sacrifices, you are only interested in creating the domestic political conditions that would cause the fallen to have died in vain. Your motives are clear. Your intentions are profane and plainly against the national interest. The publicity offensive you have launched to maximize your ratings during sweeps and to marginalize all those who oppose your blatant attempts to make America lose in Iraq is shocking and arrogant.
I don't know how Koppel and his brethren shave in the morning. Maybe one day the useful idiots at ABC News will understand that the people opposing us in Iraq don't mean them well either.
How transparent can you be? One would think you'd at least include Pat Tillman and the others who have fallen in Afghanistan. You're real sloppy and real political.
