Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

Haven't seen one yet. Keep checking but not finding one. I'm guessing it might be b/c unless people are in the immediate area it's probably not known yet...I've been searching all the news stations in this area, as well as the papers that had been updating all day, but the CHP site is still the only place I'm seeing the 100+ destroyed.

Unless they break in soon I'm guessing that a thread might not start till the news comes on at 10.

If I find something more linkable than that fluctuating CHP site I'll let you know...then maybe we can get a thread.

Here's the Snowball story from Ham operators.

People are tracking these comets (and now this asteroid) as on January 20 this message was picked up by Ham operators:

A member of our ham radio club intercepted this transmission and shared it with a few of us. He made a digital recording of it. The transmissions took place on 1-26-04 staring at 0:5:00 UTC. The frequency was 11.176 mhz, USB.

The conversation is between SNOWBALL NET and another station. We assume SNOWBALL is the network operator.

Here is a transcript:

SNOWBALL NET: Snowball Net comms check. All stations, clock sync, (pause) impact at minus 146 days, 5 hours UTC. Standby for ACC link (could have been ACD).

Burst of digital data…


Burrow: SNOWBALL This is BURROW (could be Burro as in donkey). You are not secure…repeat not secure…go green…go green…

Bursts of white noise follow for approximately 3 minutes.

Copies of this have been posted on several ham boards and have been sent to Popular Communications Magazine.

I better understand why the initial plan to introduce a real life "bet on terrorism" type of program was a valid idea. On the face of it, many of us balked. But I do see why the idea was floated. Still, with the spy agencies and Wall Street paying closer attention now that the lesson of 911 is under their belts, another leadup like that in September 2001 should NOT escape their notice. We hope.

I needed to smile, as I am still upset over the neighbors 2 rottwillers coming over here with the intention of having cat for dinner.

I was sound asleep this afternoon, and all hell broke loose.

Yes, I told him what I thought, that is the first time I have yelled at anyone in years.

It turns out that we now have 3 neighbors with full grown rotts and each has 2.

Nope, neither are close. If you look in the San Bernadino and San Diego areas and sometimes in Orange County then you see things that are closer (SD b/c they update that area b/c of traffic backing up down here from it...and because of the fires further south in north county SD area). The San Bernadino section is where they have more about these fires that are currently the biggest threat. It's really Riverside County, but they log it in the San Bernadino area here.

That was probably as clear as mud...sorry...

Assassination plot (against Bush & Blair at NATO Summit) foiled by Turkey

AN al-Qaeda plot to blow up Tony Blair, George Bush and up to FIFTY other world leaders has been foiled.

Cops in Turkey yesterday unveiled a huge arsenal of weapons and explosives found stashed in preparation for a terror doomsday.

They are convinced the target was next month’s Nato summit in Istanbul.

And they believe the aim was to wipe out the West’s commanders of the War on Terror in an outrage that would dwarf the impact of September 11.

Several months ago, someone was following the sales of gold and stocks, and 9-11, I think it was Sean.

Have you noticed that almost every thing the terrorists do, they have taken from a popular author.

If you check Robin Cook, you may find the Plum Island Story.

The 4th Horseman (or 5th) was a book about the search for nuclear or bio in New York, must be 10 years since I read it, but it wound up being 55 gallon barrels in a basement.

Back in the 1970's there was a book, a test missile was fired at sea and went through the airplane...and you have flight 800, with no explosive warhead.

Robin cook will have several books that deal with the bio uses for terrorists.

I have had more than one laugh in the past, he would publish a book and 2 years later, a reporter would break a true story that sounded like it had been lifted from a Robin Cook book.

Last I heard, there were some overseas financial institutions that were not cooperating and some others that were not too helpful because they just don't require the same level of disclosure and information that we do here in the West. But I bet many interesting stories can be told with some of the dots already connected...

I'm very surprised our local news hasn't broken in (that I've seen) if 100+ have really been lost...it was about that point when even the further away news stations were breaking in when we first started losing homes in the Scripps Ranch area here.

Apparently the summit was planned to happen in Istanbul and if they change it, it shows they are bowing to terrorists.

It's a fine line to walk between being prudent and be seen as changing plans because of the terrorists.

I hate to even contemplate the disaster, if Bush, Blair and most of Europe's leaders would be killed all at once.

The bent one's house at Chappaqua seems to be nothing more than a place to keep the new dog.

After poor Buddy was hit by a car there, they went out and got a new one. Now the new dog is probably there alone except for caretakers, and whoever else is working there.
