IMHO, pets are healersI agree. They are so loyal and loving, I don't know what I'd do without mine.

It's a story about, and a photo of a Maine Coon cat, isn't that what KC is? Go look.

You have to look at post 15 and 45...(photo and story of a Maine Coon cat. Click on the story title or the to # at the bottom of my comment. You know how to get there.)

Tuxedo cat! LOL!!! Perfect description! Little bow tie.
Gotta yank the hunk of hair on her neck, ya think? Most times she gets it off herself. She hasn't lately though. And then...there's the other one. Cat from hel. She has neck chucks of hair but won't let me even touch. Good grief, she's a handful.
No more cats for me after these two.

My orange guy loves to be brushed. But Phoebe? No way. It's a fight.

this story of PfC Hammer is so touching...my husband is serving over there, and he has told me stories of the soldiers who are befriended by a war time pet...well PfC Hammer has a real home, and thsi is one of the many heartwarming stories from Iraq.

Sorry I didn't respond to you post earlier. I have a broken foot and not able to get to the computer as much. I think this story represents something even bigger-we true Americans have big hearts. We have reached out to those who are in need around the world. We may not get the recognition that we deserve but every once in a while a story like this shows the best in us. It's a shame that Pfc Hammer can't over shadow the stupid Abu-Ghraib story in the media. Also, I wish to thank you and your husband for serving our great country. Thank him for his service in Iraq and thank you for being here for him.
