This doc has treated Kerry for 18 years, and hasn't seen the wound?
My doc has treated me for 2 years and has seen every square inch of my body, and most of the inside, too.
This just doesn't add up.

This doc has treated Kerry for 18 years, and hasn't seen the wound? He hasn't seen any!!! They must be so tiny even the doctor didn't notice them!!!
Kerry's doctor, Gerald Doyle, said he could not characterize the severity of the wounds since he didn't see them, but he noted that Kerry was in danger of serious injury several times.

This doc has treated Kerry for 18 years, and hasn't seen the wound? You are confusing a 'wound' with 'scar wound.' I believe he said he "didn't see the wound." Meaning, while it was fresh.
