Need Help From Freeper Females (vanity)

Some of the guys and I are presently at the camping lodge and we’ve got a problem that requires the help of a sensible woman. My brother-in-law managed to get something in his hair this morning, and he wanted to wash it out. I can’t tell you what that something was, because he’s refused to divulge that to us thus far (I suspect that he fabricated the “tainted hair” theory to save himself some embarrassment.)

My brother-in-law believes that his wife has, at some point, told him that peanut butter is a useful household hair cleaner / conditioner. His wife animately denied ever saying anything about peanut butter, and thinks that he must have confused it with mayonnaise. Anyway, this guy has gone from a docile gentlemen to a ranting idiot and he’s now in a state of full blown panic.

Please provide us with any suggestions that you may have for removing peanut butter from hair. If possible, we’d like to know of any “home remedies” that may work – we’re in a fairly remote location and nobody is willing to go to the store. Besides looking ridiculous, he smells horrible. Here’s what we’ve tried so far:

A) Tried to “melt” it away by pouring very hot water over his head. This basically resulted in mild burns to his neck and scalp.
B) Made a makeshift shower cap out of a Wal-Mart bag, taped it around his head to make it watertight, and poured beer in a small hole at the top. He let it soak for about an hour to no avail.

Anything that you can suggest would be most appreciated.

Jaysun

Dawn Dishwashing detergent is great for getting greasy
oily stuff out (ie - its used for wildlife soaked from an oil spill).

We've been up here for 4 days. The peanut butter was stupid, but I thought that my shower cap beer treatment was inventive if nothing else.

Are you saying it's only peanut butter in the hair? Wash it...with shampoo. Soak his head for awhile in the water.
If that doesn't work, then break out the scissors. This is one woman who won't waste a lot of time solving the problem, especially on a man's hair. His hair can't be that long, so it won't make a lot of difference, and....it WILL grow back.

Tell him to go look at the host on the sun.

Now.

Really, it's not night.

I'm laughing too hard at the moment to give a better suggestion.

Got any tomato juice?

Hey, he didn't roll around in a bunch of animal pooh, did he? My dog likes to do that.

You could try baby oil to get it out, but it will take a while to get the baby oil rinsed out later.

Yes. The dolt used it all up. He said that the peanut butter basically makes his hair waterproof, and that the shampoo wouldn't penetrate.

Try using baking soda. Wet his hair and mix baking soda with a little shampoo. It should work or Dawn dishwashing liquid. Or you could just shave his head.

Try tomato juice. They use it to wash dogs that have been sprayed by skunks. I know, because my pooch had this happen to her, and the kennel got the odor out with tomato juice.

(just don't use Heinz tomato juice).

Need to cut the oil with dishwashing soap and hot water...

Then condition it, cuz it's gonna dry it out bad.
With conditioner, not mayonaise, or he'll go from smelling like a peanut butter sandwich, to smelling like a tuna sandwich.
