WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. intelligence report in 1995 raised the possibility of a foreign terrorist attack inside the United States and a 1997 update named Osama bin Laden, U.S. intelligence officials said on Friday in trying to offset a highly critical report from the Sept. 11 commission.

A letter was sent to the 911 commission. The letter, dated April 5, 2004, talks about Ramsey Yousef and a New York mobster named Scorpa. I think the memo is related to what the letter describes--that the government was given information that was either ignored, hidden, denied, who knows--and the letter and other related information can be found in the history of my comments.
The US attorney's office in New York was using Scarpa as an informant in prison. There was a point, described in FBI 302s, in which Yousef, who was flown over the World Trade Center on his way to trial or prison, said that in American airplanes the terrorists have bombs any time they want them. Fox News mentioned the "Intelligence Timeline" that was an attachment to the letter. Even more curious is that certain FBI 302s are unavialable. We also learn that Flight 800 was a terrorist act, that at least two other airline crashes were terrorist related, and that we, the American public, can really do nothing more than heckle the actors on the stage called the 911 commission, while those with the better seats approve, so far, of the production. The script to this play was written beforehand and I will hazard a guess that not even history will learn the truth.
Actually, that is misleading. Last Sunday, Fox News mentioned Scorpa and Rebecca Gomez talked about information contained in that 'timeline'. No mention was made of Flight 800. I stumbled onto this information while looking for info on Ron Brown's death. Those links I provided offer tantalizing clues to not only his death, but to the OKC boming, the anthrax issues, and more.
But I suspect this is only a plot twist. As I said, the plot to this play has been scripted beforehand, and unless one of the actors is actually a man pretending to be a woman in the play pretending to be another man......
And the memo could also be related to the trial of McVeigh. Was the Oklahoma Corporation Commission located in the Murrah Building?
That title alone supports my theory that the Wall was primarily for the purpose of hiding illegal foreign fundraising activities.
Unfortunately, these interviews were fill-ins on the news between the Monica and impeachment stories. It appears the election/chad fiasco has also fallen by the wayside in the timeline of events. Everyone was too preoccupied with the antics of the former administration and trying to restore some assemblence of order to our government.
There were reports long before 9-11, but everyone was too distracted, including ourselves, with the national soap opera that was playing out. Has the commission talked about the first days of the Bush administration, when they had to clean up the offices after previous staff members trashed them?
Collectively, our country was distracted. We'll never know if 9-11 could have actually been prevented. However, it was all the distraction that caused us to be so dysfunctional.
Even now there are probably so many terrorist cells in this country that the likelihood of something catastrophic happening is just a matter of time and place, their time, their place of choosing, to strike when they want.
I suspect you're right. There for a brief second I wondered if Bush was finally uncovering Clinton's OKC cover-up, but then I realized that would require Ashcroft to explain why he was in such a hurry to execute McVeigh. (sigh)
Hopefully, we are using our resources better. However, the commission created to investigate 9-11 and offer some insight on how to prevent such a thing is now another distraction. The people politicizing this need a reality check. They are causing the same type of distraction now that probably left us unprepared in the past.
We don't need distractions now. We need clear thinking from those that have the most information. We don't need Monday morning quarterbacking. We need to use our resources for what we are dealing with now or may lie ahead.
The letter sans "intelligence timeline" is at post #111--it's curious that that section of FR has something that makes a small red circle appear on my computer screen, disappearing when I click onto another page. Be uh-fraid, be very uuuh-fraid!

File # 265A-NY-258172 “Private and Confidential” I had the rare opportunity of inspecting the above FBI 302 forms, that was furnished to me by infomatant Gregory Scarpa who worked this case for the FBI. At any rate, I also had the opportunity to discuss this case file with the person it involves (Ramsey Yousef). After I showed him the file, and after many conversations he uttered in disgust “That don’t mean shit, soon “Bin Laden” will use your own planes as bombs to take down the W.T.C.” Quote to the best of my knowledge .... I forward this sensitive information to you, because I believe it is of national concern, whereas the threat appears to attack the very soul of our nation. I am writing to you like this, because I think the B.O.P. Would botch this investigation, if any, and in view of our personal difficulties I still believe this matter deserves your immediate attention. I trust you will follow these allegations up with great interest, and with all the resources the FBI has to offer the citizens of America, and their childrens future. The above 302 forms disturbed me, to the point where I question sending you this information, nevertheless I can only hope you do the right thing, and not wait until something terrible happens before you act. I must admit the above statement is foreign to me, because I did not take the statement any further. P.S. This file is 47 pages long. The intelligence timeline that accompanied the letter written by the organization was 7 pages long--and it is here that there as unavailable FBI 302s for a time immediately after the downing of Flight 800.
