While all of it was happening, (OK City, TWA800, Atlanta) it appeared that we Americans were just plain stupid not to figure it out. Now, it's becoming known that our stupidity lies in the willingness of those in charge to protect their own power while sacrificing the safety of the country.

The government's story: A stream of jet fuel poured thousands of feet down towards the ground, igniting at the downward lead, and allowing the fires to race back up towards the plane, when it was seen to explode, creating the appearance to all credible eyewitnesses that a missile had been launched from the ground.

When I say "credible eyewitnesses," I mean those who saw the explosion first then heard it. Many people reported hearing the explosion, then seeing it explode, as if sound travelled faster; this is a psychological effect of the brain filling in missing information.

Perhaps 'shamed' isn't a strong enough word. 'Directed' seems like a much better fit, especially when you substitute the word FBI for investigators.

I predict that Ms. Gorelick will have a Foster or Brown style misfortune.....watch for it. This woman knows where the skeletons are and is a danger to those in power.

Surely President Bush knows about all these dots that we see connecting. Why is his Administration so silent on this? Why is Ashcroft not pursuing this? Why is Gorelick not being investigated by a Federal Grand Jury? And when will someone (preferable several someones) close to the former Klinton administration come forward and clear things up in exchange for immunity and protection?

Absolutely. It is constructed to parcel out blame in a zero-sum game. And it is constructed NOT to assign blame to the Congress or to the Cllinton Administration.

Was Gorelick the point person for the "vast right wing conspiracy" plan? What did the FBI do to investigate normal conservative Americans, and what did they do to investigate real terrorists? How many people, how much time was spent in each area? Is this why Clarke wasn't "invited" to the meetings?
