Worse. He is a Rockefeller Republican. He was also a Clinton appointee. Clinton appointed Kean to serve on the Advisory Board to the President's Initiative on Race and as Chair of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. Kean is on record stating he doesn't really know Bush, but is a good friend of Bill Clinton.

In essence then, this is not at all a partisan commission. If it were 50/50, one might make the argument that it was balanced. I think it is more like 70/30 in favor of the Democrats.
