Vive Italia! I hope that this man's death will not be in vain. He is the example to all of us-he knew they were going to kill him and he made a stand till the very end. Death to the assassins!

I think AJ won't show the tape precisely because it shows the man dying corageously and defiantly. If he had been whimpering and begging for his life, they would show it. "Gruesome" has nothing to do with it, IMO.
At any rate, he was a brave man. As someone else already said, I hope I'd do half as well in the circumstances.

Bless this hero's soul. Thank you, Italy! What ba******s these thugs are. (More and more the events sound like a WWIII)

Prayers being said for this brave man's family and for the rest of the hostages in Iraq. They are going through some miserable days and nights.

Perhaps we can start building momentum from here to pay respect to this courageous man.

Now I'm going to show you how an Italian dies. Great, heroic statement and last act... Reminds me of the Dennis Hopper character in "True Romance" when he knows he's going to die and a heroic calm comes over him as he confronts his killer.
These animal Islamic-Fascist saddists don't know America's true character (and apparently that of this Italian hero) -- they have mistakenly assumed the 8 years of feckless Clinton non-response is representative of today's America. Maybe that crap works with a good part of Europe -- they've been appeasing for 60+ years -- but not with America... and not with this President.

Agreed. I wonder if this incident will insite Italy toward REVENGE. Italians are famous for their prowess at 'executing' revenge. I would like to see an Italian force take some center stage in this war.

Good Morning All-
"...I pray this man knew he died for a great cause and he will not be forgotten..."
The sad part of the story is that this fine man WILL be forgotten.
Poll the average American at the end of this weekend by saying, "What does the name Fabrizio Quattrocchi mean to you?" and they'll probably think he is a famous Italian bicycle racer or something.
Gosh, we can be so ungrateful for the many brave actions by the men and women who stand in harm's way so that we can maintain a normal life.

Embassy of Italy, Washington, DC: 202-612-4400. Ask for the Press Office. They are pretty busy right now (9 a.m. EDT) but are grateful for all the calls.

"When the murderers were pointing a pistol at him, this man tried to take off his hood and shouted: 'Now I'm going to show you how an Italian dies'. And they killed him," Frattini said. "He died a hero."
Amen.
This explains why Al-Jazeera didn't broadcast the tape.
