[history]
April 14, 2004 -- THE purpose of last night's presidential press conference was to show purpose, and rarely has a president seemed quite so purposeful as George W. Bush did last night.
The purpose of the White House press corps was to make the president confess to weakness - to corner him into creating the soundbite of all soundbites, in which Bush would acknowledge his errors as president and thereby give John Kerry all the material he would need for a killer TV ad or two.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/04/20040413-20.html Link to transcript. Some of the "news coverage" such as last night's ABC's "Nightline" was clearly scripted by the DNC. When people start spewing about how "lousy" Bush did, Please refer them to the link above and tell them to READ it. Bush was brilliant.

The purpose of the White House press corps was to make the president confess to weakness - to corner him into creating the soundbite of all soundbites, in which Bush would acknowledge his errors as president and thereby give John Kerry all the material he would need for a killer TV ad or two. Each reporter who asked a variation of the question was hoping to be the one to face the cameras later and say that it was his (or her) brilliant questioning that caused the President to finally break down and admit that everything before and after 9/11 was HIS responsibility. Which just goes to show, it's all about THEM, not the news.

One thing, he finished in a good/jocular mood, he won, you can tell by the power he exerted in the end, the energy was his alone..... November is ours.

The president spoke from the gut. I believe him when he told us whatever the generals want in Iraq they'll get. It was his best presentation to date. The indecisive wimpy marxist image the media has been feeding the American Citizen was washed away by a leader who will not let America loose this war.
This is not Vietnam, as traitor, anti-Catholic, and a 'dead women tell no tales' leader of the most screwed-up family in America Kennedy declared. He was a punk when his daddy's money got him elected to the Senate. He's proven to be a disgrace to every true Roman Catholic and every God fearing American Christian.
Pay no attention to the rants of the Marxist DNC and their atheist Hollywood rat pack, Mr. President. Their ship is sinking and they don't have a clue. Sail on sir.

Never in my life have I been so proud of this president! In one brilliant press conference, he flat out sucked the dems oxygen out of existance.

"No one should be fooled by the way he stumbled through some of his answers about his mistakes as president. Bush knew exactly what he was doing, as he always does."
I love that.
If he's so dumb, (as they say ALL Republicans are, Reagan, Nixon, Eisenhower, etc), how come he keeps whuppin' their butts? Huh? Huh?
If slick talkers don't raise a red flag for ya', I pity you buyin' a used car...........

The President rose to the occasion. One thing is clear about George W. Bush - love him or hate him, there is no doubt in any one's mind as to where he stands. No one can say the same thing about John F*ckin' Kerry and I'm sure over the coming months the American people will render their verdict on the President's bid to serve a second term.

George W. Bush is at his best when he is unscripted and able to speak from his heart. His speech last night, scripted as it was, was great. His answers were insightful and not appologetic. Last night gave me one more reason to vote for him in November.
