Of course, all this hub bub now about the PDB but I had a discussion with some women (most don't follow political issues) and even the "uninformed" commented on how exactly was the President supposed to stop the attack from happening since we only had threats and no specifics.

Fox News is a big help because since a majority of cable listeners are tuning to them, at least the dissection of the news is done by fairly "logical" people.

Not like ABC with Jennings and Richard Clarke commenting on Condi's "inquisition."

Americans are funny, they stand up for the underdog, and it's starting to feel like the Bush administration is being "picked on." (which of course we know they are)

It will backfire on the Dems if America perceives the hearings as a witch-hunt.

Condi Rice came across as a very articulate and informed. I think her testimony surprised a lot of people who had never heard her speak.

Fox News Channel notched 1.9 million viewers from 9 a.m. to noon, while CNN grabbed 1.2 million and MSNBC had 470,000.

Fox has 4 times the amount of viewers than MSNBC, the home of sodium pentathol Chrissy Matthews.

I think it's an admirable trait, but not one that is seen in the "world at large."

In most cultures, in fact, in nature, "survival of the fittest" is the predominent issue.

I think our Judeo-Christian background makes us more compassionate, preferring to be on the side of a "fair fight" and therefore, less tolerant of folks who "gang up" or seem to bully others.

The Dims insured that there would be a large audience for Condi's testimony. I think they were under the impression that their attack dogs (with an apology to dogs) would intmidate her.

Boy, were they surprised.

I believe Condi illustrated to many that there are now adults in the WH, who, for a change, have the best interests of the US at heart.

We listened to her speak on the radio so I didn't get to see it until later when it replayed on CSpan. On the radio her voice at first sounded nervous and several people in my office picked up on this, and started commenting that Bush was going burn after her testimony. When you see her speak you saw no signs nervousness or lack of composure.

The attack dogs got sent home with their tails tucked between their legs.

Condi is quite a contrast with Joycelyn Elders, isn't she?

Clinton's idea of what America looked like (I'm going to have a cabinet that looks like America) became clear when we looked at his appointees. His opinion of America was obviously low. Bush, by comparison, has surrounded himself with very capable people.

When some people suggested a few months ago that Condi might be a candidate for president in 2008, I didn't give it much of a chance, because she just wasn't that well known. But if she continues to be in the public eye, and carries herself as well as she has during this episode, she just might have a chance.

A "semi-informed" coworker came back with the same response. She's seeing this as a witch hunt also and thinks this is all a big waste of time and money: instead of trying to pin the blame President Bush, she says they should be working on how to protect this country and keep it from happening again. She was also very impressed with Condi herself, saying we have the right people in the right place at the right time.

I think this is going to backfire big time on the Dems in a lot of ways. This supposable "racist" Republican president has filled his cabinet with intelligent and capable people, regardless of race. The Dems were exposed for the Rats they are - the difference in their method, courtesy, and respect during their inquiries of Richard Clark who has no credibility left and of Condi who has tons of credibility were like night and day. Fawning all over Clark, interrupting and attacking Condi. Yep, the DemocRats are going to regret this one.

I noticed the same thing. Her voice did sound shaky on the radio. I then went to a TV and she looked very confident. She had each person planned out. She knew which ones would give her trouble and seemed to almost know what they would ask her. She had memorized the issues that would reveal their hypocrisy.

Notice that no matter what the event/issue, while CNN and MSNBC can increase their viewership for a day or so, they remain below FNC by margins similar to their usual rankings and FOX picks up more temporary viewers than either of the others.

Maybe more and more people are beginning to realize that FNC has the most evenhanded coverage.

I guess one thing I found so offensive was the fact they wanted to plant doubt and outright lies in the minds of the American people by taking particular items out of context. Getting at the truth was the last thing on their mind. Since I can't say anything nice about the group of '9/11 widows' that are dem activists using their victimhood for political gain with the full support of media hacks like Chris Matthews, I will just point out their clapping for dems should be stopped by the chairman as they are helping turn this into a circus.

Condi has never acted in a way to be treated with such disdain and disrespect. She is a jewel and we are all fortunate to have her in the Bush administration. Clarke was telling a different story from his private testimony which obviously angered some pub members. They may have expressed their concern at his change in testimony, but they didn't yell and do everything to keep him from giving his answer.
