Phoenix-AP -- A Good Friday anti-abortion protest has brought out around a thousand demonstrators in Phoenix.

Demonstrators tried to block access to a regional Planned Parenthood headquarters in Phoenix.

The city's new Catholic Bishop, Thomas Olmsted, compared abortion to Calvary, the site and symbol of Jesus' crucifixion. Olmsted says it boils down to the fact that innocent lives are being taken, as was the case when Jesus was executed.

Christians mark that event on Good Friday.

Planned Parenthood executive Bryan Howard says such blockades only make matters worse. He says what's actually needed are "real conversations about real life."

He says Olmsted is helping to perpetuate the guilt and shame Americans feel about sex and sexuality.

It is beginning to appear as though some of the Catholic bishops in the U.S. are actually opposed to abortion. Unfortunately, Cardinal George in Chicago doesn't seem offended by the hoopla surrounding John Kerry's Easter plans. Kerry is making a big to-do about the fact that he's located a priest in Chicago who is going to give Kerry Communion on Easter Sunday. The priest ought to be suspended immediately.

Freepers need to find out what church Krerry's going to be at and what mass he's attending.Wait until after mass and stand across the street with a HUGE banner with the words "ABORTION IS A MORTAL SIN."

Kerry probably won't care,BUT the priest will see it and it should give him some pause.

Does this "Bishop" have ANY Biblical training? ANY? Jesus was innocent however He took on the punishment of you and I. If He hadn't we'd be eternally condemned.
