Gerald Nicosia doesn't even make sense. He seems to believe that the republicans would go to the trouble of stealing his files, But why would they bother? After all the republicans only have to request the files from the FBI and they will have them.

Nicosia is now publicly speculating that Republican Party operatives might have stolen the FBI documents from his home. Maybe it was space aliens who "abducted" the documents.
Maybe it was Winged Monkeys from the land of Oz.

In order to preempt any conspiracy talk, the Bush admin should offer to expedite any requests for John Kerry's FBI files.

"The author who alleges that three boxes of FBI files dealing with Democrat presidential candidate John Kerry's anti-war group were stolen from his home last month did not allow police officers to process the crime scene. "The police report of the incident also neglects to mention that the Kerry campaign dispatched a messenger to the home of author Gerald Nicosia to pick up copies of the FBI files a week before the alleged theft of the documents."
Can you say . .

Nicosia is alleging the theft occurred in a 3 hour period. During that 3 hours the thief, or thieves, had to gain entry, locate the FBI files, find the 3 of 14 boxes containing "sensitive" Kerry material, find the other missing files among the remaining 11 boxes and make their departure without leaving any signs of a crime having been committed.
Wouldn't it have been easier for the thief/thieves to just take all 14 boxes?

I've suspected all along that Nicosia was pulling a publicity stunt. He's netted millions of dollars worth of free publicity.

The word for this claim is "kookafied"... it's laughable.

Ha ha ha. I said this: "After watching this guy on TV the other night and hearing that he's pro-Kerry, I'm of a mind that he masterminded the whole thing himself, or with the help of the Kerry Campaign, just to sell his book. Granted, there is the possibility that there actually was a break-in, but I'm always skeptical of these kinds of things, especially when money is a likely motive. What better way to sell a book than to pull a publicity stunt like this. The GOP wouldn't have to burglarize anybody's house to have access to these papers. The originals are at the FBI and since Mr. Nicosia was able to access them through the Freedom of Information Act, so can every other American citizen."

"I would say that the Republicans had the largest motivation," Nicosia told Scarborough last week. Scarborough said the case "almost sounds like a "West Coast version of Watergate, 2004."Yes, those evil Republicans would do anything to cover up evidence of Kerry's involvement in the assasination plot. [rolls eyes]
And what's with Joe Scarborough lately? Seems like he's been eating up the democrats' anti-republican talking points a lot lately.
