Not to put too fine a point on it, but shouldn't the word be "firewood". Stacking up like cordwood implies order, to facilitate measurement of the cord. Otherwise it's just a pile of firewood. Anyway, I've always heard the expression as "stacking up like cordwood," FWIW.

Thanks, I was just being prissy about CNN. Guilty in that I am feeling very revengeful and desirous of seeing dead people stacked like firewood. So I deflect to criticizing the CNN to avoid people saying "cajungirl, you sure are blood thirsty today"
