Not to put too fine a point on it, but shouldn't the word be "firewood". Maybe they should say stacking them up like cords of firewood. Just a minor critique.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but shouldn't the word be "firewood". Stacking up like cordwood implies order, to facilitate measurement of the cord. Otherwise it's just a pile of firewood. Anyway, I've always heard the expression as "stacking up like cordwood," FWIW.
