National Security Adviser Condi Rice's recent troubles haven't deterred her many fans. They just kicked off www.rice2008.com. The new site offers this scenario: Vice President Cheney bows out, and Rice is tapped as veep. Then she runs in 2008 with Florida Gov. Jeb Bush as her running mate.

She is going to be a viable source in the Republican Party...I'd vote for her in a heart beat.

The only way Condi would become president is if the security/terrorism situation got so catastrophic that the silly demographics, vote-pandering, and regionalism that have come to dominate politics were shown for the joke taht they really are.
To have a Condi presidency... the american people, and the media especially, would have to be ignoring the "Message: I care" politics that have made our elections such a joke.
For a Condi presidency, we would have to be looking for a true Leader. Not someone who "cares about people like me". The last time we have had such an election was in 1980.

I know it's early, but Condi would appear to be the only person in the country able to prevent a President Hillary Clinton in 2008.

The mistake that the Dems have made is that they've put the spotlight on Condi a bit too early. She will turn in a bravura performance on Thursday that will, I predict, wow the nation.
As for U.S. News, they're about 2 years behind the curve. "Rice2008.com" is almost two years old.

Perhaps as a worthy running mate for John Stossel in '08.

Condi Rice has to be admired. In my opinion, she
is brilliant, articulate, has her hand on every aspect
of intelligence. The United States and Bush are fortunate
to have person of her caliber in government.

It seems time for the bash Condi articles doesn't it?
Conventional wisdom holds that her days in politics are numbered. Some predict she will exit the White House if President George W. Bush wins a second term, if not before. Time magazine has bluntly asked, "Is Condi the Problem?"

Exactly my point. That's why I beleive a disasterous Kerry presidency would lead to a Condi or Rumsfeld Presidency in '08. Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. However I'm happy with Bush, so I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.

"National Security Adviser Condi Rice's recent troubles"
Recent troubles? What recent troubles?
To: litany_of_lies
I know it's early, but Condi would appear to be the only person in the country able to prevent a President Hillary Clinton in 2008. The idiots on the 9-11 commission have been trying to destroy her. They may yet succeed, but there is no doubt they have raised her profile and given her a golden chance to introduce herself to the nation.
If she does well, and I suspect she will, then the 9-11 inquisition could be the best thing that could happen to her.

Good for you all, you are catching on to why Rice is before this commission.
She is being Borked, in the hopes of crushing her for future political aspirations like President or Vice President. She would be supremely qualified for either position.

That is the reason SHE is there and the rest of the reason for the commission is to bludgeon the wonderful job the President is doing in the war.
This was a "SURPRISE" attack on 911. If it wasn't a SURPRISE, we could have stopped it.
Being we didn't know terrorist go to nude bars for whores before they act, we did not know at that time to look a Persian activity in topless bars as a sign of future attack. Who knew?
