Not to worry, I just think it's really silly to celebrate a truly 'lost cause'. I had ancestors on both sides and don't feel the need to have a whole month to celebrate the 'heritage' of those that were on the wrong side of the issue - not to mention losers of the war they started. They were big talkers then that couldn't follow their blustery words with deeds. Now the feeble attempts to make them heros (more like dupes) is offensive to me and many others.

If you want to celebrate something - at least celebrate a cause that was just.

You do know the Civil War had nothing to do with
slavery don't you?
It started because the Yankees were ripping us off on our cotton and other crops. And I mean do RIPPING US OFF
and we wanted to with draw from the Union and start our on country. Sounds like the sort of just cause that started this Great Country in the first place. What do you think?

We celebrate our heritage because we are proud of that heritage. We have something you Yankees don't understand. It's called PRIDE. Our ancestors at Vicksburg held out for months and months with almost no food. You Yankees would have folded in a week under the same circumstances. You attack Mississippi because its people are strong and proud. Our heros like Lee and Jackson fought hard with far less resources than the Northern aggressors. They were true patriots. They didn't committ war crimes, either, like the Northern aggressors did. Sherman burned the homes of civilians and his soldiers raped and plundered. We have much to be proud of. It is you who should be ashamed because you have not been blessed by being a son of the south.
