He is in jail now. Pelicano? He had all those explosives in his office and tapes bugging everyone from Michael Jackson to who knows who in the Clinton saga.

Not really, I just am at a loss as to what this author's point is. If he HAD the files and was using them for research, they HAD to be obtained via FOIA.....one cannot just "borrow" FBI files, they must be vetted and approved for release, as I said, via FOIA. So, it may be a major PAIN for him to go through the motion to "re-request" his missing files, not to mention the cost and the time involved, but he CAN get his hands on what he's missing, that way.

If he obtained the files by dubious means (ala the Craig Livingstone/Hillary Clinton method) then what recourse does he have and why is he bringing their loss to light? It's like calling the cops because your crack pipe is missing.......like I said, I'm confused as to just what the guy's point is............and why would the person(s) who took the files risk getting caught burglarizing the guy's place, if all of the files are available anyway, through FOIA?? To me, the whole thing is puzzling, to say the least!

I've responded to many FFOIA's. Many agencies its normal to keep copies of original request, document search data and released documents due to possibility that request response may be contested. FFOIA cost to replace 20,000 pages could be expensive.

No Way did the FBI give anyone the "only" copy of a file.

Under the FFOIA, they can give them a copy.

I don't think this is a Bush/Republican conspiracy. Its not Bush's style and the odds are that someone on Kerry's side didn't want the files exposed.

Remember, the guy who had them was starting to make them public domain. He invited Kerry's people to review them for validity...a few days later the breakin occurs.

This is a Democratic Watergate without the press coverage.

Why is it that this author seems to be the only one who has access to JFKerry's FBI Files? (At least willing to make money off them, so far.)
