It is hard to believe that many Democrats were once this way. Imagine the problems we could have avoided if they were all like this old guy.

The vindictive Clarke has now had his revenge, but what kind of hell has he, his CBS publisher and his axe-to-grind advocates unleashed? Classic Zell.

Thank you, Sen. Zell Miller.
And I mean that very sincerely.
Makes me proud to be transplanted to Georgia.

If this guy is a democrat, then so am I. I mean come on, he's the absolute best Congressional spokesman we have. He isn't afraid of the left, the right or the middle. A damn good American in a time of War, I'll tell you that.

I agree with Zell and gratefully welcome his comments, except for this one:
"..for its unintended consequences.."
Ya right. Nice try at being kind, but the consequences have been very intentional from the beginning.

He's one of the few Democratic Senators or Representitives I actually like, they don't make'em like that anymore.

Zell Miller is what the Democratic Party used to be. The Democratic Party is now only an empty hole like the WTC.
To: jfreif
How much did ol' Zell talk straight like this before deciding to (a) retire and/or (b) write his tell-all book?

Zell Miller is the end of an era. He is the last of his party who truly put America first before anything else. He is a calm voice of reason and sanity in a political body that lacks either.
When he retires, America will be the poorer for his loss in the Congress.

Just as long as the people back home support us. What kind of message are these hearings and the outrageously political speeches on the floor of the Senate yesterday sending to those marvelous young Americans in the uniform of our country? Democrat politicians do not care about our troops in the field. In spite of all their faux patriotism & puffed up indignation when challenged.
If American moral suffers, if our enemies are emboldened enough to go on the attack & kill a few more of our guys, oh well, ya gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette, eh, Teddy?

A Congressional hearing in Washington, D.C. is the ultimate aphrodisiac for political groupies and partisan punks. LOL - how true!
God bless Zell Miller for standing for truth; and for being a patriot, regardless of party label.

Zell Miller for President.
To: jfreif
What Zell Miller has said is completely true. However, if Republicans think that this doesn't also pertain to them they are sadly mistaken. I am distressed that the Bush administration has once again stepped in to try to appease the "Hate Bush" administration by agreeing to appear before the 9/11 commission. This is totally unacceptable to me a professed Republican who is sliding toward the Independent or Constitutional Party. The Republican Party is becoming the party of whimps and needs to get on with being the party of warriors to which Zell speaks.
To: jfreif
Senator Zell Miller is the type of Democrat that my family supported from the Civil War until the 1960s. Nowadays, those kind of Democrats are a myth. Today's DemocRATS are just that, RATS!
They care not for God, nor Country, nor Duty. They are only out for power and their liberal agenda. They are just as evil an emipre as the Soviet Union ever way. They only want to see the destruction of the American Way of Life that served this nation from 1776 until the 1960s.
The America I knew is slowly being destroyed at the hands of these DemocRATS and RINO Republicans. They are the allies of our enemies and are giving aid and comfort to those that wish our death and destruction.
I pray for God to bring a pox on these SOBs. The Lord may forgive these traitors, but I shall not.
Not now, not tomorrow, not ever!

I love this guy....Truly a remarkable man. He represents the Democratic Party that my grandparents once supported. He's the kinda guy that makes you proud to be an American, but sad that we have slipped so far down.
