It was a public display of political insiders, de-facto government, protecting the government.

"He describes the scene at a hotel near Kennedy Airport, where President and Mrs. Clinton went to meet the families of victims of the TWA 800 disaster. "I opened the door to the next room, which had been set up as a chapel," writes Clark. "Alone in the room, on her knees, Mrs. Clinton was praying."
Oh please give me a break.
"But when it came to piety, Hillary had nothing on Janet Reno. "She had shown incredible public courage in taking the blame for the disastrous siege of the religious cultists at Waco, Tex.," Clarke writes, referring to the incident in which Clinton's attorney general ordered the tear gas attack on the Branch Davidian compound that sparked the conflagration that resulted in the deaths of more than 70 people, including many children."
Oh really??? Why didn't she resign?
" Taking credit for that showed "courage," says this "Republican." But John Ashcroft's manner of defending the Patriot Act is something else entirely. In Clarke's view, that understandably raised the specter of the Third Reich. Writes Clarke of Ashcroft: "The Attorney General, rather than bringing us together, managed to persuade much of the country that the needed reforms of the Patriot Act were actually the beginning of fascism."
Hmmm what was the prior paragraph about? Oh and yes the patriot act was enacted under executive order by John Ashcroft was it? All congress did was sit on the sidelines and complain that they didn't get to vote.
"Drawing a contrast with George W. Bush's aggressive approach to the war on terror, Clark says: "Others (Clinton, the first Bush, Carter, Ford) might have tried to understand the phenomenon of terrorism, what led 15 Saudis and four others to commit suicide to kill Americans. Others might have tried to build a world consensus to address the root causes, while using the moment to force what had been lethargic or doubting governments to arrest known terrorists and close front organizations. One can imagine Clinton trying one more time to force an Israeli-Palestinian settlement, going to Saudi Arabia and addressing the Muslim people in a moving appeal for religious tolerance . . ."
TEACHER TEACHER OH OH I KNOW I KNOW Wahabies!! This shows exactly why we had sept 11 2001. The liberal mindset. And this is exactly why THEY FAILED.

His writing does contribute to a greater understanding of what an arrogant pompous fool he is.
I had given him at least credit on recognizing the danger of Al Queda, but he has shown himself lacking in the ability to deal with the danger.Plea for tolerance indeed.

One could wonder about Clarke's "wartime service", college hideout perhaps. Also there other avenues of interest of a personal nature that might be indicative of his character. He has opened himself up for such interest.

I don't link but I googled and found, under Richard Clarke, a 2003 article on the "security focus" site ridiculing Clarke on his "accomplishments".
I saw the cyncooper find.I pinged a lot of people to it and hope it is widely emailed!

What amazes me is the democrats actually believe this tripe and are salivating. Their problem is they underestimate the intelligence of, Thank God, most of the electorate. This guy's writing looks like something written by a ten year old. And if this is all they got, the democrats must be very worried.
I really do think this guy's writing is comical.

That's PERFECT! I do SO wish I'd hear that statement at the end of one of the debates this fall.

So I heard little Dicky is a "life-long bachelor." What's the scoop on his "best friend" Rand Beers? Married, single, uh...otherwise taken? Curious minds want to know!
To: Terry Mross
I thought he was at least better than this...astonishing!

Oh, brother. No, he's not partisan. He's just never given $$ to a Republican candidate preferring instead to give to Democrats.
