I agree with your comments. I also have a question for everyone.

How come the intelligence up to 9/11 is claimed by the democrats to be "so substantial and damning" that we should of done something about it before it happened? Yet, the intelligence we used for Iraq and WMD's was "faulty and fabricated" ??

The left can not have it both ways. I wish some chucklehead in the media would pick up on this. Damn I hate doing their job as well as mine.

I was impressed, although I'm not holding my breath for it to become a trend.

It's important to recognize the simple fact that CNN has their eye on the ratings meter for the election season. The Iraq war was a wake-up call to them: if they don't add some balance, they know that their primary market will turn to Fox.

So look for some better balance from CNN, or at least a more subtle anti-Bush spin.

(As for Clarke, well, you've got to figure the newsies are salivating over the prospect of being able to cover a self-destruction....)

Oreilly had one of Clark's Harvard students on his show last night who said he could notice a lot of anger and visceral hatred for Bush coming from Clarke in class.

Do you seriously believe that Al-Qaeda started plans for the hijackings the DAY the Bush administration took office? Get real.

A country the size of Israel can't stop daily attacks that are sometimes equivalent to our 9/11...and they have many more restrictions than we do. It's unfortunate, but a country the size of the US...with the freedoms we demand, is never going to be safe from those who want to do us harm.

Clarke's testimony made HUGE BANNER headlines in this morning's Atlanta paper, along with a gigantic picture of him ... Will people buy the lies? Strikes me that they might.

AJC forum on 9/11 commission Doesn't look like people are buying it ...

Clarke was in the Civil Service......difficult to fire. We have Clinton to thank for this designation (as he went out the WH door).

Amen to that.

I distinctly remember Powell saying, on 9/12, that Al Queda was probably responsible for 9/11. So, if Powell knew about Al Queda I can only assume Bush and Rice knew.

Anyone catching a whiff of desperation??

Only you. The Clarke lies are having a big impact, with the media fully behind them. Even the maddening 9/11 families are falling for his phony "apology". Bush fell 6 pts in tracking polls. It is working. Sickening.

Condi should have gone before the panel, if only to refute Clarke point-by-point. It really looked awful for Condi to appear on Brokaw, but not in front of the people. Brokaw was able to easily ridicule the fact that "you ate here now talking to me...why can't you testify?" "Separation of powers" sounds silly...the White House is clearly wasting a big opportunity to bash Clarke, and to look like they are not stonewalling.

And which tracking polls? I assume you're talking about Rasmussen, where Bush went from 47-48 down to 44 the past two days. Where else?

People HAVE bought the lies. After all the testimony last night, a number of people I know bought it hook, line and sinker. Nevermind the classlessness and open aggression of the testimony. Or the fact that the testimony was directly contradicted by Armitage and Berger, on either side.

Clark is a little snot who was ticked off that he felt like he was being ignored. Human reaction, but that doesn't excuse lying.

Did you see where someone (I think it may have been tapatio) posted the suspicion on yesterday's live thread that Richard Clarke is perhaps the "White House official" who leaked the Valerie Plame/Joseph Wilson info to Novak? Wouldn't THAT be a hoot!
