CLARKE: No, it came up in April and it was approved in principle and then went through the summer. And you know, the other thing to bear in mind is the shift from the rollback strategy to the elimination strategy. When President Bush told us in March to stop swatting at flies and just solve this problem, then that was the strategic direction that changed the NSPD from one of rollback to one of elimination.

Excellent!

FOX should have broken this news earlier, rather than now. The commission probably won't even bring this tape up when Clarke testifies. Clarke will get away scot free.

I disagree. Perfect timing. Does not give the commission time to develop a fall-back plan, to their intended 2.5 hour Clarke-love-fest, and Bush administration bash.

The commission will have this in front of them. The commission has been working off a new book, it can darn well work off a new transcript of the same person.

I think Clarke's regretting TODAY how he's really dirtied himself. This is an explosive revelation.

The timing is PERFECT: just hours before he testifies...no time to even THINK of what to say!

The RATS put Ben-V on this panel because they owe him for his consigliere allegiance to the RAT cause over the years. Could imagine the earthquake that would have occurred if Kean had put Ken Starr, Robert Bork or, David Schipper's on this panel?

Fox News Break - Aug 2002 - Clarke on tape supporting what Bush had done, as opposed to Clintoon doing nothing. W increased funding 5 fold.

They've had over a year to prepare, and they're only citing from this stupid book of Clarke's that was just released this week.

I was 'guessing' at that 'sarcasm' tag. lol

But figured I'd make the point anyway. :-)

To all,
ABOUT CLARKE:
This has a stink of Clinton about it. Think of that poor boy, Josh something-or-other who had to deny his own diary in an early Whitewater hearing... And Kathleen Willey's cat and tires.

This guy did a 180! Why?

No wonder Kerry hid out all this week. He was staying out of the line of fire, so he wouldn't mess up someone else's game plan, imo.

After seeing the tape out wonder if Clarke will get seafood poisoning at lunch today.

Ah, poor Carlo Clarke. He should have told the Don about this backgrounder before taking the Don's money. Now Don Bubba will be very upset....

"Hello, Carlo..."

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Thanks for the ping to this, prairie. I just walked in the door.

How did it go with Tenet? I taped it and will play it later today...

I agree also. Ari had a way cutting a reporter off at the knees with a polite smile on his face.

Clarke may be discredcted, but the media won't play it that way.

They will try to rehabilitate Clarke, but this is too big for them to ignore. It helps tremendously.

I agree this is too big for the lamestream press to ignore, but they will ignore it. It's no different than CBS not citing a poll when Bush is leading Kerry, and citing a poll when Kerry is leading. They'll be intellectually dishonest.

The libs who are carrying the water for the RATS on these shows need to be confronted with these facts, if they arent, they are emboldened to continue their lying and mis-representation to the American people.

Just like the terrorists who only understand the use of force against them...

The dims don't play by the Marquis of Queensbury's Rules, and our side had better remember that.
