Muslims publish 'Jesus' ad Campaign seeks to change hearts and minds of Americans

A controversial Islamic lobby group has published an ad in California newspapers seeking to win acceptance with the message that Muslims "respect and revere Jesus" as do Christians.

The ad by the Southern California office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, is headlined "More In Common Than You Think," with a photograph of the old city of Jerusalem.

CAIR has launched an advertising campaign called "Islam in America," which in the wake of tensions resulting from the 9-11 terrorist attacks aims to dispel stereotypes and portray Muslims as ordinary citizens who love their country.

The "Jesus" ad, quoting from Islam's book the Quran, reads:

'''Behold (O Mary!)' The Angel said, 'God has chosen you, and purified you, and chosen you above the women of all nations. O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him, whose name shall be the Christ (Masih or Messiah), Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and in the hereafter, and one of those brought near to God.' (Holy Qur'an, 3:45)

"Like Christians, Muslims respect and revere Jesus. Islam teaches that Jesus is one of the greatest of God's prophets and messengers to humankind.

"Like Christians, every day, over 1.3 billion Muslims strive to live by his teachings of love, peace, and forgiveness. Those teachings, which have become universal values, remind us that all of us, Christians, Muslims, Jews, and all others have more in common than we think."

Muslims point out, however, that they reject Christian belief in Jesus' divinity and regard him only as a prophet.

Muhammad, in fact, is considered by Muslims to be superior to Jesus because Islam's founder is believed to have brought God's final revelation.

CAIR claims to be a civil-rights group that represents mainstream Muslims in the U.S., but the group is a spin-off of the Islamic Association For Palestine, labeled a "front group" for the terrorist organization Hamas by two former heads of the FBI's counterterrorism section.

CAIR issued a condemnation Monday of Israel's assassination of Hamas leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin that made no mention of Hamas or Yassin's responsibility for countless terrorist attacks against Israel, which were part of his stated objective to destroy Jews and the Jewish nation.

Gee, what about all that other stuff in the Koran about killing the Nazarenes and about the Eucharist being a disgusting abomination and all that?

They also have some interesting non-Biblical beliefs about Jesus, such as that prior to the crucifixion he was bodily translated into heaven and that Judas Iscariot was miraculously transfigured to look like Jesus and that it was Judas who was actually crucified not Jesus.

The great universal message of Christianity is one of love and forgiveness. The Muslim countries would instantly move forward into civilization if they embraced this wonderful message.

[5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

[9.30] And the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!

It's just a ploy to make Christians hate Jews. Oldest trick in the book. Allah does not exsist. The God of the Jews does.

CAIR is nothing more than a front group for Terrorists, who are becoming experts in propaganda and race baiting.

But, like all Mohammedans, their true colors shine through time and time again (Yassin was a great spiritual leader, Suicide bombings are OK, ad nauseum).

Then why do you reject the Christ and prefer the pedophile, Mo?

1. Say: He is Allah the One and Only;
2. Allah the Eternal Absolute;
3. He begetteth not nor is He begotten;
4. And there is none like unto Him
[Quran: #112. Ikhlaas *SURAH*]

In blasphemy indeed are those that say that God is Christ the son of Mary. Say: "Who then hath the least power against God, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every - one that is on the earth? For to God belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For God hath power over all things."
[Quran: al-Ma'idah 5:17.12]

O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of God aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in God and His apostles. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for God is one God: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is God as a Disposer of affairs.
[Quran: an-Nisa' 4:171]

COMPARE TO THE BIBLE....

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.[1 John 5:10]

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.[1 John 2:21-23]

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.[1 John 4:1-3]

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

So much more can be said on this topic.

Bottom line is the (jesus) in the quran is nothing more than a lie to Keep people from the truth..... ;(

Respect and reverence for Jesus as a prophet +$1.25 will get you a cup of coffee. What a load of tripe. I say that because I can't really belive that CAIR is making a statement about their own beliefs. Rather, it says more about their assumed gullibility of and desire to pander to Christians.

Islam Teaches...

Islam considers Jesus a prophet just like Moses, Abraham, and Noah. [4]

Mohammad and the Arabs are descendants of Ishmael, which Islam claims Jesus said by their interpretation of Matthew 21:42-44 would supersede the Israelite nation. [5]

Islam rejects the divinity of Jesus Christ:

* "The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was no more than Allah's apostle and His Word which He cast to Mary; a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His apostles and do not say: 'Three.' ...Allah is but one God...." (Koran 4:171)
* "...Then Allah will say: 'Jesus, the son of Mary, did you ever say to mankind: 'Worship me and my mother as gods beside Allah?'" (Koran 5:114)
God has no sons:

* "...Allah forbid that He should have a son." (Koran 4:171)
* "It is not meet for God to have children." (Koran 19.92)
* "He begets not, nor he is begotten, and there is none like unto him." (Koran 112:3)
* "No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god along with him. [if so] then behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have lorded it over others! Glory to Allah! from things they attribute to Him." (Koran 23:91)
* "And they say, 'The Most Gracious Has betaken a son!' Indeed you have put forth a thing most monstrous! At it the skies are bout to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin: That they attributed a son to the Most Gracious. For it is not consonant with the majesty of the Most Gracious that He should beget a son. Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to the Most Gracious as a servant. He does take an account of them [all], and numbered them exactly, and everyone of them will come to him singly on the day of judgment." (Koran 19:88)
* "And (they) impute falsely, without knowledge, sons and daughters unto Him...How can He have a child when there is no consort for him...?" (Koran 6:101-103)

Bible Teaches.......
Jesus was more than a prophet. He is God. (Matthew 17:5; Mark 1:1; Luke 1:35; Philippians 2:6; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 4:15)

* He claimed to be God: John 4:26; 8:23; 10:30; 13:13; 14:7-10
* He accepted worship: Matthew 8:2; 9:18; 14:33; 15:25; 18:26; 28:9, 17; Mark 5:6; Luke 24:52; John 5:22, 23; John 9:38
* He forgave sins: Matthew 9:6 Mark 2:7

"He was God manifest in the flesh" (1 Timothy 3:16), "for in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." (Colossians 2:9) God was in Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:19), Who is "the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person..." (Hebrews 1:3)

By the names attributed to him in Scripture - "Alpha and Omega," "Immanuel" (meaning, God With Us), "My Lord and my God," "etc. - the deity of Jesus Christ is seen.

Jesus Christ possessed all the attributes of God: omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, immutability,
The Father declared Jesus to be His Son:

* "Thou art my son. This day have I begotten you." (Hebrews 5:5; cp. Psalms 2:7)

Jesus himself claimed to be the Son of God:

* Luke 22:70; John 10:36; 19:7

The angel declared Jesus the Son of God:

* "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and... that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35)

Even demons confessed Jesus the Son of God:

* "And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God." (Mark 3:11; cp. Luke 4:41; 8:28)

Many others professed or addressed Jesus as the Son of God - and were not rebuked for it:

* "Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God." (Matthew 14:33)
* "Nathanael answered... Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel." (John 1:49)
* "She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world." (John 11:27)
* "Now when the centurion... saw the earthquake ...they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God." (Matthew 27:54; cp. Mark 15:39)
* "And the high priest answered... tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God." (Matthew 26:63)

The gospel writers, inspired by the Holy Spriit, testified of Jesus' Sonship:

* "The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God" (Mark 1:1)
* "And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God." (John 1:34)

Jesus' Sonship - his relationship with the Father - was the subject of preaching in the early church:

* "... he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God." (Acts 9:20)

Unbelievers - and Satan himself - challenged Jesus' Sonship:

* "...save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross." (Matthew 27:40)
* "If thou be the Son of God..." (Matthew 4:3, 6; cp. Luke 4:3, 9)

Confessing Jesus is the Son of God is essential to salvation: 1 John 4:15; cp. Acts 8:37; 1 John 5:5, 10, 12, 13 (See also: John 5:25; 9:35; 11:4; 20:31; Romans 1:4; 2 Corinthians 1:19; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 4:13; Hebrews 4:14; 6:6; 10:29; 1 John 3:8; 5:20; Revelation 2:18)

All who profess the Lordship of Jesus Christ are adopted sons of God: John 1:12; 3:18; Phl 2:15; 1 John 3:1, 2

I do believe they have a "small" problem. They don't believe that Jesus was the Son of God and died on the cross for our Sins.
