FBI Shadowed Kerry During Activist Era
Los Angeles Times ^ | March 22, 2004 | John M. Gilonna

Posted on 03/22/2004 6:37:15 PM PST by jrlc

Breaking now on the Internet. John Gilonna, staff writer of the Los Angeles Times, confirms that FBI File on John Kerry contain confirmation that he did not resign from the Vietnam Veterans Against the War until after the November 1971 VVAW Meeting in Kansas City where the Assassination Plot to kill US Senators who opposed the Vietnam War was discussed. This admission of the Kerry Campaign confirms news reports first broke by Tom Lipscomb in the NY Sun, who has reported over the past week that John Kerry attended the Kansas City meetings, despite the initial denials of the Kerry Campaign. Extensive FBI files on Kerry's VVAW activities exist and should be made public, in the same spirit that the DNC Chairman (and Tim Russett of NBC News) requested President Bush to release files regarding his service in the National Guard.

So the Clintons neutralized Dean, and now have slipped FBI file data to the Times to make sure no Dem wins in 04, leaving Hillary the chance to run in 08..........

Wasn't this posted earlier as a puff piece on the KC meeting which Kerry attended?

Aren't you the least bit skeptical of an anti Kerry article released by the LA Times? This story has been around for weeks and it seems to go nowhere. If true, and I believe it is true, this should finish Kerry.

I agree that Hillary! is duplicitous enough to do something like you described, but I read it a bit different.

Information out this early, assuming it's to undercut Kerry, would help to get her on the ballot THIS YEAR, not in '08...no need to release it pre-convention, no?

Next thing you know, we're going to hear that Kerry went to North Vietnam and hugged Ho and declared that the communists would be victorious.

An earlier post highlighted that Kerry went to Paris and met with the North Viet Namese and Viet Cong delegates to the Paris Peace Talks. He had no diplomatic standing but did interject himself on the side of the enemy. Scum Bag!

Actually you should be skeptical of the person that posted this article, who mischaracterized its content.

Unlike what the posted text starting this thread implies, The LA Times makes no mention of any assassination plotting. And states twice that the FBI found no evidence of Kerry being involved in anything illegal.

Strongest thing the article says against Kerry is that his public statements about when he quit the group are inaccurate.

Here's what's missing from the astory--the very reason why that meeting was important--THE ASSASSINATION PLOT. It was impossible for any unbiased person to write this article and leave out the critical point..

Read the actual article. Kerry is the victim, pursued by the evil FBI and Richard Nixon.

My first thought is that the Rats will try to pull a Memogate trick on this - make the story about what the (Nixon) FBI was doing to the "courageous anti-war activists" instead of the fact that this particular activist (Kerry) was involved with a group that was plotting the assasination of US Senators, and God only knows what other evil acts.

I wonder what the Constitutional thing to do would be, for the current case, where a traitor is running for president? Can the FBI run an investigation which result would nullify the candidate's qualifications? Could the same be applied to Hillary if she is brought in as a replacement? We are entering new territory, and should be thinking about contingency plans.

Exactly. The Kerry campaign could have written this story if they weren't so inept. The LA Times did their job for them.

Therefore, now is the time to turn this around. I've gone on long enough keeping my cool about how the Leftist media and academia have slimed Cointelpro as something illegal. The friggin' Communists were trying to start a revolution right here in the USA! Cities and campuses burned with riots just prior to and right into the Nixon administration, youth were violent in the streets! I believe that Nixon was actually extremely restrained given the circumstances. Compare this with the response to the anarchists at the turn of the 19th to 20th century, and to the Communists during the 1920s. If anything, I fault Nixon for being too nice; he had Constitutional authority to do much, much more. So too does Bush.

..... are another example of the extent to which the U.S. intelligence apparatus monitored and investigated groups opposed to government policies during the Vietnam era...

FBI harassment.....reforms were mandated in the bureau to prevent such abuses and restore public confidence.

Kerry = FBI 'abuse-victim' antiwar activist.

How dare the FBI pursue someone who may have lied while testifying before the Senate!

How dare they trail someone who pretended to be blind to the lies of his cohort, Al Hubbard.

How dare the FBI trail Kerry who was a member of a group that considered the assassination of Senators.
