This is a private party. I'll report after the party. Let us know if Greg Packer showed up, and if he did whether the New York Times interviewed him. |

Mark Smith spoke at our local conservative NYYRC meeting last week. He's a funny speaker, so his book is probably good too.

Harlem, for one. They are about 15 to 1 Democrat; my area (high Nineties, low Hundreds) is 10 to 1. West Side as a whole is less liberal that that on average. Some areas of Brooklyn and the Bronx are also more liberal than the West Side.
Manhattan as a whole has 97,000 registered Republicans and 560,000 registered Democrats.

There is a difference between liberal and democrat. Take Harlem for example. Democrat...yes. Many of them are also religious and socially conservative. They are not motivated by liberal philosophy but by race-baiting.

Thanks for the ping, but I couldn't have made it anyway -- long, rough day and now I'm going to curl up into the fetal position for a while...

I did not meet George Pecker.
It was a good party. There were other freepers there, Kashei and PARodrig were there.
There was an open bar, some food. There wasa short speech by the publicist and by Mr. Smith. My only real complaint is the loud music (much of it disco). While understandable, although unpleasent at clubs, I believe it unwarrented in a political party.

OK, we have a lot of liberal Republicans too, but that holds for the East Side as well. Hard to count if you're going to do liberal vs. conservative. VERY few conservatives. We did have a Liberal Party and we still have a Conservative Party, but even the Conservatives are split on many hard-right issues.
What a refreshing pause to hear Rick Tyler from GOPAC yesterday. Ah. A Republican. Right here in New York.
