IF (not yet proven) the islamists did this - they were really dumb. All they did is they stirred a hornet's nest...

All the protests in the world won't matter if you're not willing to blame the real culprits. Europe refuses to beleive that Arabs would slaughter them... just like they were, well... Jews!

Millions protest against terrorI grieve for their losses, but their protests are a waste of time. Terrorists can't be protested away, they can't be legislated away, and they can't be wished away. However, they can be killed. Praise to George Bush for all he has done, and may he be given Divine wisdom in all that remains to be done.
To: traumer
Liberals in this country are unwilling to accept it as Islamic terrorism too. The twisted reasoning causes them to believe that they aren't enemies of terrorists so terrorists don't want to kill them.
I for one have not forgotten the word of mullah Omar back before the start of the Afghan war when he said they would not stop till the infidels are exterminated and the WORLD lives under the literal law of allah.

but their protests are a waste of timeIt shows the terrorists that the people are not cowed ... it shows the government that the people support strong action ... it bolsters the spirit of the nation.
It's not practical action, but it is something.

I grieve for their losses, but their protests are a waste of time. Protests are never a waste of time in a free society. Protests are what evoke change. I wish the right would learn this lesson better. Keeping your views to yourself, or preaching to the choir does nothing to bring change about.

So many of the Liberals I know think that they are attacking us because we are not being nice enough to them. Democrats are so naive, it's pathetic. Yet, they run the place.

"Protest against terror." What a waste of time! The best "protest" is an armed citizenry hunting these maggots down and expunging them.

It's just a shame that it took a tragedy like this to get some of these people out in the street........

The libs are very nuch the enemy of the islamists, along with the rest of us.The licentious lifestyle depicted in the exported products of the Hollywood libs is often cited as just the sort of influences the terrorists want to reverse and thwart. Of course we know the roots of terrorism are more than that (hate envy, backward thinking, and all the rest), but suffice it to say the libs are well within the terrorist crosshairs.

It's just a shame that it took a tragedy like this to get some of these people out in the street........Their stunned reaction (more with flowers and teddy bears than with raw anger and cries for vengeance), as Mike Savage pointed out tonight out)proves they did not understand 9/11. Remember, the vast majority of the Spanish populace opposed an alliance with America in the war on terror. A significant number will blame the recent attack on that alliance.

All the terrorists view a demonstration like this as is a target rich environment. It might not be wise to let them know that they can create one easily, no matter how well intentioned the assembly.

Millions protest against terror OK, see what happens in non-Islamic countries! When was the last time you saw millions of Muslims protest against terror, denouncing Bin Laden, or Arafat for having "perverting Islam," a great and peaceful religion?
To: luvbach1
The libs are even more the target of the Islamists, and will be the first to go if they should ever take control. The Muslims hate feminism, atheism, licetiousness, and homosexuality, which are the cornerstones of the liberal/socialist lifestyle.

A significant number will blame the recent attack on that alliance.I suspect that most will not, but will turn against the Islamists. The Spanish people are a proud people.

It shows the terrorists that the people are not cowed ... it shows the government that the people support strong action ... it bolsters the spirit of the nation. There is also the need to be with other people. To feel like you're doing something, anything even if at the moment it is protesting. Soon they will get things together and really start doing something to deal with the murdering terrorists.

Exactly. It's only D+1, too soon to do anything really useful. The people need time to vent their emotions, and then to settle into the cold, purposeful state that will take decisive action, once it's determined what action is needed.
