Sec. 2382. - Misprision of treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States and having knowledge of the commission of any treason against them, conceals and does not, as soon as may be, disclose and make known the same to the President or to some judge of the United States, or to the governor or to some judge or justice of a particular State, is guilty of misprision of treason and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than seven years, or both

Treason is considered a big time plus as political credentials in a presidential election... probably even ranking higher than adultery or lying under oath.
amongst democrats that is.
His popularity should really soar on this "announcment" and in fact, he may have leaked this through back channels himself, just so he could be more "anti-establishment" than DEAN...
and the moderates will love him more because this is nothing but a "mean spirited attack" by the "cruel fascist republicans". 'word up man' word up!
