DDT is also needed to protect our troops in Iraqi, and Iraqi civilians need it as well. It won't be used, mostly, I suspect, because American swing voters tend toward environmentalist extremism.

Freon and DDT were "banned" for the IDENTICAL reasons in the end...corporate patents rights. When Freon plummeted to 5.00/ton in the early 80's-any poor country could access modern air conditioning technology-which is beyond its' reach today> Modern politically correct refrigerants are 4-5 times the price.
