PHONY OUTRAGE OVER BUSH ADS --- contact nightly@nbc.com
dfu | 3-8-04 | dfu

Posted on 03/08/2004 7:05:07 AM PST by doug from upland

HERE IS THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE by FReeper dead

Peaceful Tomorrows is a group largely funded by the wife of the RAT weasel running for president. Their outrage over the Bush ads was a setup on the media.

This morning, I phoned NBC news and asked for the newsroom. I spoke with Lauren and she said to send an email. Please join me in sending to nightly@nbc.com

Also, a phone call might be helpful. 212.664.4444, and ask for the news room. For those who were around yesterday, FReepers caused a stir by flooding the NY TIMES with calls.

You have two choices: 1) sit there and complain, or 2) make the call and send the email. If you won't take two minutes to make the call and send the email, I will not take your complaining seriously. It really isn't that difficult to do.

I called the Times twice yesterday to complain and could tell they were back on their heels. After denying it was true, I sent a link of the article to the guy and he said he would look into it.

Someone took the post that had all the information down, anyone know why? I thought it was effective!

I sent an email to NBC but I doubt it will do any good with that bunch. They're agenda is clear and it's not to get the truth out.

Before I call...where or when did NBC/MSNBC post or announce the information so I know exactly what I am talking about?

A link would help. Thanks

It's the Media who are running for president. Kerry is just a figurehead. It could be the town dogcatcher..anyone at random from the phonebook, it would not matter.

I have spoken today with NBC, the Wall Street Journal, and local KTLA in Los Angeles. Yesterday, it was the NY TIMES and KFWB radio. Come on, folks. You can help. Don't let the RATS get away with this.

A local conservative radio host, Charlie Sykes, WTMJ 620 Milwaukee, just said that he will be discussing the Heinz foundation links to the Peace for Tomorrow group.
I am not sure what time, but it seems deads investigation is going to be getting some air time.
Lets hope that Brit mentions it tonight on Special Report.
Here is a link to Charlie Sykes, he is on until 12:00 CST.

KCOY-12 television (Clearchannel) also ran a "hit" piece last night. Their little talking-heads have minimal interest research.

Good idea Doug.

A word of advice, as someone who works with the media all the time your letter will get more attention if you don't come out blasting as a proud conservative.

I worte mine as though I too was liberal newsroom type:

NBC Producers/Editors:

I'm sure it was not intentional, however the ongoing controversy over
the Bush campaign's recent ads depicting the 9/11 disaster is now
becoming a powerful issue for those on the the Right.

Apparently the group Peaceful Tomorrows has received substantial
endowments from Teresa Heinz. How could the media have missed this
fact? Lapses such as this one continue to propagate the thinking
among the public that our mainstream media is biased toward Democratic
causes.

Admit it, you messed up and so did everyone else. Why not take a few
minutes to break the story open and admit you were deceived? Let's
put this controversy behind us so we can get back to proper coverage
of the campaign and avoid all these side distractions.

A few more "supporters":

A news conference Friday by Peaceful Tomorrows, a group of victims' relatives, was arranged by MoveOn.org, a Berkeley-based group that has been running ads critical of Bush. The relatives questioned the use of the images for political gain.

``When we heard they were upset about these ads, we thought their concerns should be heard,'' said Peter Schurman, executive director of MoveOn. ``These are families of people who died. They are upset that people who were killed in these attacks are having their images used for political purposes.''

Thanks...for the record I was forceful on the phone with the guy I spoke with (Brian) but in no way nasty or abusive. I also sent him that link which attributed the story to both the Times and Post.

Now on to NBC/MSNBC...where did they refer to Peaceful Tomorrows as an independent group?

I won't mention his name, but I just spoke with a major reporter from the Wall Street Journal who returned my call. He was unaware of the money ties. I have a feeling that when the fit hits the shan, this story will finally be reported. Okay, how many calls have the rest of you made?

I don't know that NBC referred to them as non-partisan. I do know that Katie Couric had on the outraged family members, and, although I didn't see the show, I am confident that Katie didn't out them.

We need to get the Heinz-Peaceful Tomorrows connection to Hannity. He will be more likely to get the word out.

I had called all the media and local stations on Saturday .I called the Pittsburgh post gazette also and had a few words with a reporter.Sunday mornings front page headline was right attacks Heinz, the article simply said the right is attacking unfairly because of her generosity to worthwhile organizations. Isn't that utterly disgusting! This was front page news!!!!!!!!!!!!
