I think the point of the Democrats is that Bush won't allow pictures taken of the coffins coming back from Iraq, yet shows a coffin from 9/11 in his commercial.

The best answer to this is that America has always rallied around in time of war. FDR didn't hesitate to talk about Pearl Harbor. It was a national day of remembrance for fifty or sixty years, and there are many who still remember it, although the left-wing media seem to have forgotten it during the clinton years.

You are correct. Hillary loves flag-draped coffins -- from Iraq. She said so.

Hillary was upset that they couldn't catch a photo op of a saddened Bush next to flag-draped coffins...so now they have to come up with a new theme for Kerry ads. Kerry looks like he crawled out of a flag-draped coffin.

Yesterday I was in a golf shop with a buddy, just tagging along while he bought a pair of shoes. I don't play golf, so I don't really care about the toney stuff being offered & displayed. I'm of course delighted by the many options for club covers, cleat cleaners, golf hat hangers, ball racks, tee sharpeners, putting practice deals, etc; etc; many/most of them Chinese in origin.
The one thing that grabbed my eye was a terry-cloth towel with an American Flag motif that you can use for, well, anything your heart desires....to wipe off genuine golf dirt, clean your clubs, wipe your brow, snap your buddy's ass in the shower, whatever. Brass grommet in the corner and a snap, you can obviously hang this from a loop in your golf bag. So I get to thinking (always my downfall) Wassup with this?
Cognitive dissonance set in. Why would someone buy this? You like the flag but want to wipe your sweat with it? Tidy and upscale person you are, you want to wipe the dirt from your golf balls with an American flag? Weird.

Democrats do not want to talk about 9/11 because their candidate is weak on this point. They will clutch at straws to change the subject. The media will try to spin the straws into gold. Don't let them change the subject. Kerry is weak. He was a war hero, then he changed his mind and became an appeasement freak.

Basically, if Dubya is using it, it's despicable.

Are you sure it was Hillary? I recall that as well, but I am not sure it was Hillary.

Yeah wierd. Maybe it seemed like a sure seller to the Chinese novelty factory that printed it? I was in a quickie-mart getting coffee, and there was a rack of bumper stickers and badges with funny themes. A whole bunch of them were post-9/11 American pride themes. Some were almost comical in their patriotic intensity, such as a red/white/blue F-16 with the caption "Kick their ass hard!" and an eagle with "Don't get in my way!" etc. ALL of them designed and printed in China. Like the nylon American flag kits at Wal-Mart. They even make money off our patriotism.

What you obviously don't know is that it's been Pentagon policy since the 1970's to not allow pictures of flag draped coffins.
It has nothing to do with Bush.
Seems the Rats are being entirely hypocritical on this matter.
Kerry's ads show him in Vietnam. I imagine the 50,000 families who lost someone feel pain when seeing him in Vietnam and hearing the guns in the background.
Kerry has been sending literature to the NYC Firehouses. A fireman whose name I've forgotten wason FNC today and said EVERY single piece of Kerry literature his unit has received has images of 9/11.

Did we see pictures of flag draped coffins presided over by FDR??(Nooooo!)

I think the point of the Democrats is that Bush won't allow pictures taken of the coffins coming back from Iraq, yet shows a coffin from 9/11 in his commercial. And that decision was made before the Bush administration as the rats well know! President Bush did not make that rule!!!!

If the Rats had their way we would see the pics of every family member alive or dead and every person that knew the person underneath that flag!
But only if they stated the MANTRA ABB!

...American Flag motif
I think the kicker is that it's a replica or a "toy" type flag, not a real flag.
I have a white towel on my golf bag, and I have no objections about wiping my clubs on the French flag.

During the Viet Nam war, one of the news magazines (I don't remember which) printed a photograph of every soldier killed during a certain week. The point was not to honor those that died, but propaganda.
That is why the left want to meet every coffin that returns from Iraq, not to honor the soldiers, but to use them for their own propaganda. Perhaps that is why the pentagon changed the rules years ago.
To: kaktuskid
Seriously this law/provision was put into effect because the Rats started the Vietnam war and the Media drooled all over it waiting every day with film crews at McGuire AFB, NJ.
