Is he the same guy that was on Sliders as the portly professor? That show had some pretty decent hidden political comment in it from time to time.

I didn't watch it much, but yes, that was him.

The best episode was called, "A Current Affair". It featured a President named, Jefferson Williams. (hint: William Jefferson Clinton) The highlight of the episode was when President Williams held a press conference and declared while pounding on the lecturn, "I did not have homicidal relations with that woman, Maggie Beckett..."

The whole episode was a parallel to what was happening with the Clinton Administration at the time, namely Monica Lewinsky.

Hillarious stuff.

The very same. But, for me, originally he made a very favorable impression as the navigator in Shogun.
