MATTHEWS: Let me to go Debra. Your view, when you watched these commercials or even snatches of them. What was your feeling?
DEBRA BURLINGAME, LOST BROTHER IN 9/11 ATTACK: Well, of course, those images brought me back to that day and that darkest hour for our country. And I found the images inspiring, to be reminded once again that, although it was our darkest day, it was also our finest hour.
That was a terrible shock for everyone in this country. And those images reverberate for families, still today.
One of the reasons I was able to get through that day and my family was the other images we associate with the towers falling and the planes hitting the buildings.
And that is the images of the resiliency and the strength and courage that was exhibited that day in the number of 343 firefighters running into the building to save lives. Americans lined up around the block to give blood. The outpouring of love and support that my family and 3,000 other families received.
Those images represent that. The strength and courage of this country, and I like being reminded about that.

MATTHEWS: Let me go back to Debra for a moment. Debra, your thoughts about what you've been hearing.
BURLINGAME: First of all, I think that the political agenda that we're hearing here is from Monica. And I?she has her right to express those views.
But I think the images is what we're talking about, not whether or not he is a good leader, whether or not this is a fair use of these images.
And I think you have a point, that he is trying to signal to the American people who he is and what he stands for. And he's trying to tell us that the war on terrorism is a top priority.
As far as using these images and whether or not it's tasteful, I would just like to say as someone who lost her brother in a battlefield in the air, that that is a top priority for me, as well.
MATTHEWS: Do you remember who you voted for in 2000?
BURLINGAME: Actually, I wasn't able to vote, because my mother was dying; and I was at her bedside and out of state. But I probably would have voted for Al Gore. I probably shouldn't even admit that, but I am a Democrat.
And when I say admit that, I mean, I don't really like to talk about that in term of this conversation. Because I think that the issue at stake here is, are these images, who do they belong to?
And I would say that, you know, when those planes hit, when those towers fell, that was not an attack simply on Monica's husband or my brother or New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington. That was an attack on every citizen of this country.
Those images belong to all of us. We were all attacked.

SHUSTER: But what the Kerry campaign doesnt tell you is that the Senator has also referred to 9/11 for political gain. Last September 9, two days before the anniversary, Senator Kerrys presidential campaign issued a press release about the battles hes fought and the values he stands for.

That's the most dispicable ad I've ever seen!

It was justified. Dukakis gave day pass to an incarcerated rapist and he raped again. Don't forget Kerry was Dukakis's Lieutenant Governer.

What's funny about their claims that these ads are "distasteful", our RAT governor, (who IS Clinton's guy) said on TV last night that he had seen the ads and he thought they were tasteful and appropriate. He's been named as a possible VP candidate. The RATS would really whine if they heard that news clip where Richardson made that statement. :)
Not from where I sit!!!
