"Hell, I'll grant him the Bronze Star for pulling the SF guy out of the river"
With all due respect, not so. Here's why:
As skipper of that boat, it was Lt. Kerry's
duty to go back and try to save that or any person who got blown
off his boat or who otherwise went overboard - under any condition. To not go back would have been a dereliction of his duty and a punishable offense.
That info was posted a here a while back by an ex-sailor who was also a boat skipper.

I refer to him now as Senator Paper Cut : )
CLeland is protesting way too much here to make this very suspicious.

I understand your point, but I feel that these two (Kerry and Cleland) are using it as an excuse to not show his record or discuss what he did there. HE is the one who continually brings it up. If he doesn't want it discussed, then shut up about it.

It is amazing that Kerry's "battle with prostate cancer" hasn't received any media coverage. On the other hand, Rudy Giuliani's widely covered battle with prostate cancer took him out of the race to become the "junior senator from New York." Then we got you-know-who.

"That might be the height of hypocrisy, for people who never went to Vietnam [to ask for Kerry's wartime medical file]," Cleland, a leading Kerry backer, told WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg. Wrong, sir. The fact that someone did not go in Vietnam is in no way a reason to request Kerry's wartime records. Oes that mean that a vet who served for 26 years is not able to ask, or someone who served in the Iraq war?
"I mean - I felt a wound. John Kerry felt a wound," he added.
Max, IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU. Get that through your head.
This is really a pretty interesting strategy by the Dems. Get a guy who lost limbs to go after anyone who wants to see Kerry's records, in an attempt to try and make them "feel bad" about making the request.
Using the Dems logic, would the Republicans need someone who served in Vietnam who had NO arms and NO legs make the request for it to be legit? Geesh...

"The Repubs have GOT to take off their gloves..."
It ain't the "Repubs"...it's the media. The "Repubs" are at the mercy of what the media will publish/broadcast to the masses. It's almost like they have to find a way to "trick" the media, or embarass them into throwing the hardball questions to the RATS.

The Repubs have to take over some more news stations. FOX NEWS is good, but its too "fair and balanced" We need a Republican equivalent to Les Moonves.

Well we know that the press will be bringing up his refusal to release his records every day until he caves, right?

[ Sen. Cleland, who lost three limbs in Vietnam but never received a Purple Heart, said Kerry's physical sacrifice had been just as great as his own, telling Malzberg, "I don't see any difference." ]
Well DUH!.. of course not..
You're a democrat, MAX.....
