'But the fact remains that the United States boasts the world's largest and most vibrant economy. It will stay that way so long as we are guided by a trust in what President Bush calls "the power and possibilities of freedom."'

Darn, I wish that President Bush wasn't so humble. Braggadocio Clinton never let us forget he was working so hard all the time, and actually had people believing he was doin' somethin' about things. It's just that those things never got done and President Bush was left with one hell of big mess.
Just shows how little regard mainstream press folks have for people that are the doers. Always raging and hyping on about the losers.

Haha, now when we are asked why we like Bush more than Clinton, we can answer: "It's the economy stupid!"

Wow, I hate Billy Chrystal. He needs to read that article and graph and see if he still considers our economy to be "tanking." He should be one of the people out on the streets, thrown to the compassion of those around him.
Now he's talking in a different language like an idiot. What a megalomaniac. He's almost as bad as Michael Moore (but not quite).

With the U.S. economy on the upswing, President Bush's critics are finding it increasingly difficult to disparage his economic record.
Except in Hollywood. ;')
The French, meanwhile, get to enjoy the downturn in tourism business the US sent their way.
In this context, the difference between Clinton and GWB is that the former inherited an economy already on the upswing, while the latter inherited one on the way down.
