Many people laughed when the White House predicted 2.6 million jobs this year, as though it was an impossiblity.
Go see BLS.gov and there were many years when job creation surpassed the 3.0 million mark. 1977 and 1978 had almost 4 million new jobs in each year. 1983 and 1984 and 1987 and 1988 had well over 3.0 million with 83/84 being close to 4.0 million each.
1986 and 1995 were anemic by contrast with the economy creating "only" 2.0 million new jobs.
