February 17, 2004 -- THE misunderestimators are back, dripping with their old familiar condescension and contempt for President Bush.

Liberals who were forced by bitter circumstance over the past two-plus years to face the truth about the very formidable George W. Bush are now retreating into their old comfortable ways.

President Bush is a Texas country cowboy while John F. Kerry is Eastern and polished. Country vs City. Conservative vs Liberal.

After months and months of attacks without any counter attacks Bush is still 51% in the polls.

just wait until its a 2-sided campaign.

actually they are both eastern prep-schoold elitists. Look at the policies kerry wants and look at the policies that bush as enacted. Almost the same. But what do you expect from a bunch of Exeter academy Yale Alumni to do.

President Bush is a genius at getting his enemies to continually "misunderestimate" him!

Nothing like a bit of class war rhetoric to prove how "conservative" you are.

How is that class warfare? I said they are both elitist rich guys from the east. This is true hence their upbringing. If you can't take the heat then get the Heck out of the kitchen.

If you mean Bush has tried to satisfy the liberals' domestic wants, you're right. I don't think any thing he does in the way of spending will ever reconcile them to him.

He spends to darn much too much toooooo much. Give me my money back and if you want other programs then run a fundraiser or something but give me my money. Nothing like a rich guy telling you that you should take your money and spend it on someone else without your choice.

On the plus side he cut our taxes and wants to make tax relief permanent. The Democrats think the government needs the money more than we do.

GW was raised in the Texas oil patch and went to school in the East just like a lot of Texans. His parents live in Houston and are Texan to the bone. You on the other hand are someone that believes "family connections" are the only way someone could possibly be more successful than you. It is sour grapes writ large.

"I said they are both elitist rich guys from the east. This is true hence their upbringing."

Similar background. Different outcomes. Totally different people.

You should be more sensitive to stereotyping.

Rome wasn't built in a day. We do need to reduce spending and start getting the Republican Party back to its roots.

Fox had Bush at 53% job approval. With what he's been through in the past month, that is nothing short of a miracle. And .. proof THE PUBLIC ISN'T BUYING THE DEMOCRAT'S SMEAR TACTICS.

It never ceases to amaze me how profession Christians (who have the very life and mind of Christ to guide them) can be so ignorant when it comes to politics and the differences between conservatives and liberals.
