President Bush made his way to Daytona International Speeway today, where he was honored with starting the race. Air Force One touched down on a near-by airstrip after doing a fly-by for the thousands of NASCAR fans in attendance. The President's motorcade then made a trip around the oval before heading to Pit Row, where the President greeted many of the drivers. Bush also took time to greet some fans in the stands. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

My husband was very proud to tell me that he's a member of the very important demographic who support President Bush--"NASCAR Dads."

***I am watching Extreme Makeover on ABC...they are redoing a Guardsman's house who is in Iraq....***

And the end, where they all saw their husband/dad . . . I was crying along with them all. I was thinking of you two, too.

My sister and her husb were there--I'll be anxious to hear from them. They didn't answer their cell phone--I wonder if with the increased security they were not allowed to take them in.

You have never been to a major NASCAR I am guessing... the cell phone would NOT be heard. The roar of crowd & the roar of engines is beyond belief. Ms B !!!!!!!!!!!!.. hello there pretty lady! still cold there in maine I see... Checking out soon.. long day. Good day. do check out the live NASCAR thread. it is fun.

I think the bottom line of the green box is that you can "use the photo".. just get your credit card out...

I'm "borrowing" this stuff from Kathy in Alaska in the Canteen:

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has won the Daytona 500 for the first time in his career. Tony Stewart, who led 97 of the 200 laps, was second. Scott Wimmer, a rookie, finished third.

An American flag is displayed during the pre-race ceremonies at Daytona.

There are more pictures here (#226 & #227).

Just a suggestion to help you get thru this week--take care of yourself. Do things that YOU enjoy--get a massage, watch a movie, read a new novel, eat lots of chocolate--just take care of yourself. Stress is hard on our bodies as well as our minds, and I don't want you to get sick. Do something for YOU!

My prayers are with you.
