"Did the Chinese make a huge mistake in sharing technology with Pakistan? Sure. Did we make a mistake by looking the other way in the 1980s when Pakistan was developing the bomb? Yes," Wolfsthal said.

Sounds like to me they did it on purpose. From their standpoint maybe it was no mistake.

Kind of weird that China is supporting Islamic terrorist states and fighting Islamists in their own country as well.

Not weird because they've never been fighting Islamists.

They have fought Uighurs who are not Islamist and are most like Turkey.

They have "fought" them because the communists took over their nation and did what communists do to people and they tried to stand up to the communists.

Interestingly in China there were mosques that after 911 supported bin Laden and al Qaeda and displayed banners supporting the attacks and also street demonstrations in support of the attacks. These were not Uighur or separatist mosques. They were "patriotic' mosques.

The Chinese communists are and have long been allied with and supported the usual Middle eastern regimes and especially Arafat and the PLO.

China is the main benefactor for Iran's nuclear weapons program as well.

The communists traditionally shared the Islamist hatred for the US and other free democratic societies. They also support them on purpose (ege proliferation) to diffuse the US military and other resource so that China would have less to overcome if they ever wanted to do something the US would need to counter.

yonif: This will weaken the US greatly in terms of the huge extention of its resources and economy...

That might be a miscalculation on their part, however. Anything that mobilizes us makes us stronger. The problem is to keep us on the ready.

It doesn't make sense that Libya was ahead of Iraq in the nuke programs.

While China engages in proliferation, President Bush stands by her side in condemning Taiwan's independence referendum.

The United States is not willing to begin a war with China over Taiwan in which millions of people would likely perish. Sorry if that spoils your breakfast plans.

As far as the liberal press is concerned it's a "who cares?" no matter what Bush does. Look at USA Today -- they are still pushing the National Guard nonsense and saying "questions linger" -- more Michael Moore. HOW CAN WE GET THIS TO STOP? We're back to the press covering Congressman Condit while the terrorists plan to attack the WTC. No matter what Bush does, the liberal press is determined to trash him. No matter what Kerry does or has done, the liberal press is determined to give him a pass.

At some point, we have to have faith in the American people. Even Californians recalled a governor. (Although I'm wondering if Arnie's no better than Gray Davis at saying "no" to the politburo these days...)

Late night or early morning? LOL Whatever the case might be "risk" I believe you attached this response to the wrong article posted. LOL But I understand what you're saying. What has happened is that we have elected a RINO(as I was trying to convince FReepers for months during the campaign) but I didn't do a good enough of a job. Now as I predicted we are going to pay the con$equence$!

Up late, and it's the correct thread -- I'm saying that Kali proved that even the most liberal state can manage to see the light. So hopefully they'll see the President Bush is the right choice in 2004. RINO or not, Arnold was not elected to take out $15 billion loans to pay for massive waste in Sacramento in my name. I wonder if it's time to launch a recall drive just to remind him how he got into office?

I am at the point that if one of our cities gets nuked, we should take out every Chinese, Russian, European and Middle-east city

You can't be serious? Russia and China? That's it then, dude.

And I certainly think an ultimatum is at least in order before we start vaporizing Muslim capitals wholesale and killing millions of people. Cause that's pretty much it then too.

This is what we're fighting this war to avoid. How can you not understand that?

How long before the current proliferation is sheeted home to where it really belongs -- squarely with the Peking-based "china" gang's "'man' in Washington," Mlister Kling Tong?

No one here should be shocked. Not a one of us. Its been going on for years.

About 15 years ago my father said to me "one of these days there's going to be another world war, and it's going to be the Chinese and the Islamics versus us". I kind of discounted it at the time, but no more. He's a smart man.

"Again, this was reported again and again. No one here should be shocked. Not a one of us. Its been going on for years."(maui_hawaii)

I agree with you. The writing was on the wall for decades. This seems to be some hard evidence.

Question is, what will we, The USA, do now? We can not continue on this course we are on with china much longer. china is a rogue nation on a dangerous path.

It will be interesting to see what happens with this report in the next couple of days. It can not be swept under the rug I hope.

The election of Arnold showed that a majority of Kalifornians figured out three things: (1) the sixties are almost over (2) we are all living in a 911 world and (3) Kali is so much closer to China than the rest of the US.

If you think we don't need missile defense, think again.
